Question about Canon PIXMA MP760 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer has not been used for awhile Have put new ink and has come up with error - turn on and off and see manual - have turned on and off and printer head does not seem to be moving into position as normal with startup.

Hi there,

The crtridge rider can be stuck.

Wiggle it some.

Leaving a printer unused for a good while always risks drying out the heads. If, after wigglling the carrieage loose ( or it refuuses to do so because the software told it the heads dried out and to move will damagae alot of other things) take it to someone who can clean it.

Make sure they have a history of this, can provide an IMMEDIATE FLAT RATE QUOTE WITH () DAY GUARANTEE, or bet e new printer.

I'm sorry, but it's that "cut and dry"

E2-2 = No paper (ASF)

First way
turn off printer.
- put your finger and hold on/off with reset/stop button together
- turn on printer power switch
- release on/off button but in the same time still hold stop/reset button and then press on/off button again and hold.
- wait at the moment
- relese stop/reset button 2X.( your will see alarm led blingking for 2X)
- relese on/off button.
wait until your printer digital screen shows number 0.
- after printer panel screen shows number 0.
- press reset button 4x
- press on/off button 1x
wait until your hear printer roller is moving
after your hear roller moving, wait until your dont hear anything from your printer :)
then turn off and turn on your printer again and your will see your printer back to normal.

Second Way
turn off printer.

Error code 6A00 The power light and alarm light are flashing alternately

Turn off the printer and open the replacement ink compartment- move the inks holder far to the left- use a torch to check where the inks holder home and you'll see that there is a sponge a tiny rectangular shape come loose use the twiter and put back in place holder.also move the print head manually back andforth few times then power off and turn the printer back on.

Try the following:

1. Open the printer access door.
2. Put out both ink cartridges and the printhead.
3. Let the printer access door open.
4. Put out all paper.
5. Pull out the ac adapter at the back of the printer.
6. Wait 60 sec.
7. Pull in AC adapter.
8. Wait 30 sec. then turn on the printer
9: Wait for the error message: Printer access door open.
10. Close the printer access door.
11. Wait for the error message: Printhead is missing.
12. Open the access door and put in only the printhead and the close the access door.
13. Wait for the error message: both ink cartridges are missing.
14. Open access door, put in only the black ink cartridge, then close the acess door.
15. Wait for the error message: Color ink cartridge is missing.
16. Open access door, put in the color ink cartridge and then close the access door.

If the error is solved, do a firmwareupdate right now.

Cartridge Error, Error 50C


Hi there Error 50c

Dell gets this lots so have a try.

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.

ERROR CODE 3813


After I took out PrintHead and tried to clean it up again, I put it back in with Ink Cartridges and got error code 3813 - also couldn't fix it. Removed Ink Cartridges, turned printer off. Turn back on and it will forget about error code 3813 and will tell you to install Ink cartridges. Do that and error code 3813 is gone and ready to print.

A note: I did not find anything telling me I have to change printhead but my problem with black ink printing still exists so I will get new printhead and see if that problem gets fixed.

Service error 5C00


Service error 5C00 might indicate the purge system.

The "rattling sound " is probably coming from the (gears of-) socalled purge unit. May be one ( or both) of the ink tanks is not properly put back in again,or the printhead-lock is not locked. and the purge system is blocked.

Remove the ink tanks and remove the printhead, closw the printhead-lock, close the printhead cover, switch the printer of, switch the printer on again. If the rattling sound is still there, than you might have an expensive problem to be solved.
If the rattling sound is gone, there is probably something wrong with the printheadlock.
