Question about Toshiba A105-S4054 Notebook

3 Answers

Laptop crashed recently i left my Toshiba laptop, model # PSSA8U-0ER02K Satellite A105 S4054 turned on all night, which is a usual thing. When i tried to take it out of sleep mode, it would not turn on. I held down the power button to do a system reboot, took me to the log in screen, but every keystroke was a beep....If i hit the space bar it put dots in the password box, and other keys operated different functions. Finally after rebooting multiple times, it took my passwork and I went on with my business. A few minutes later the same thing occured while on a webpage. Beeping for keystrokes, Some keys made the start menu apear, etc. When looking at my pictures, the normal magnifying icon was replaced by a hand. Mouse clicks automatically copied information, etc. I rebooted again, it was stuck once more. No the entire system goes to the safe mode screen. It says to choose a selection, but I am unable to hit enter or use the arrows. When I was in windows, I tried to do a system restore, but it would not allow me to proceed. I am now stuck on the safe mode screen that will not allow me to go to windows at all anymore. I need to retreive my data, and hopefully fix the laptop. Any suggestions???

Ok you said you left your comp on all night well it sounds like you heated your comp for a very long time where the bottom was laying flat against desk this is its air way to staying cool the back of the laptop has to stay at least an inch off any service so that it can breathe cool air
let comp sit for bout 2 hours regaining its bearings then prop back up an inch and try to run comp again
most likely you heated everything up so hot that it cooked its internal organs the harddrive will be alright but the mother board i can not say at this time they can usually take heat but not for long periods of time all wires will be effected by this over heat thats why key board wouldnt work and when you got up and started moving comp you allowed it to breathe which gave you those extra momments to get into comp
once in comp i would remove the password temporaly so that comp can boot straight threw to desktop for at least a couple days
recommendation dont leave comp on at night you will fry it by leaving it on turn off when done with it for the day
what im saying is you wouldnt want to jump into a pit of hot lava now why expose comp to same thing

Are you running Windows XP or Vista. Out of any of them since it logs you in safe mode, try doing a ScanDisk and disk defragment. Also Did you ever drop the laptop on the ground? It may of unpluged the keyboard ribbon causing it to do that.
If so, We can check it, but first check to see if you have a warranty on it.

Look over your keyboard very carefully and make sure none of the keys are stuck.

Usually these buttons only operate when the Toshiba software is fully installed. Check whether you do have the Toshiba Initial CD and try installing all there programms in terms of media .

Toshiba satellite A105,My wife dropped laptop now when you try to start I get error message operating system not found, try to boot to bios and get several quick beeps

Harddrive has probably crashed or the connection have become loose. Flip the laptop over and look for the Harddrive assembly. Usually has 1 screw holding it in place. If you feel comfortable enough - remove the screw and pull the HD out and slide it back into place. See if the connections are simply loose.. If that does not work you probably need to replace the HD.

Hi, according to what you indicate in 2 occasions utilizastes the DVDs given for toshiba and they operated correctly and already not, it is possible that your equipment has gone to guarantee and they have replaced the card mother and they forgot to do the DMI to him in order that it recognizes the discs of recovery, they can do alone it in an ASP, for what I recommend you go to the nearby.
