Problem with Williams 2509612 Ceramic Mid-Size Heater

Nexgrill patio heater won't stay lit

The pilot functions, but when I release the knob to turn the burner on, nothing happens.

If I turn the knob to "burner on" position and push it in, the igniter starts, and the burner lights.

If I then release the knob enough for the igniter to stop, the burner stays lit. If I then completely release the valve, the burner goes off.

Any ideas?

    • I have the Nexgrill patio heater from Costco, item # 219841, model # 920-0010. It's the one that is brownish in color and has the granite drink tray. It worked great for about 3 weeks, but now it won't stay lit. Pilot lights fine and the heater will run for about a minute or two, then it makes a click sound and shuts off. LP tank is new and full, also tried a new full tank from my BBQ. I'm going to return it to Costco.

Best Solution

I called Nexgrill technical support at 1-800-913-8999. They are sending me a new thermo couple to keep the valve open when ignited - so the patio heater will stay on. I needed to give them the serial number (inside the propane tank door) and fax them a copy of the receipt.

Hope this helps.
