Try formatting in a PC. If fails then card is bad ! Return for exchange. If works in the camera, great. ( or you may need to format it in the camera too.)
The iMac G5 does not have a microphone in jack, only a line in jack. The signal levels are generally not compatible.
You can buy a USB-based microphone (or headset), or you can buy a preamp unit such as this iMic.
The pontiac G5 has a defect on some of them that need a new ignition switch. I just had to get mine replaced because mine did the exact same thing. If you remove the fuse it will not fix the problem!
there are actually extra spaces for internal drives with the proper connectors for the ribbon cable and the power cable. Just open the side of the G5, and double check your connectors prior to purchase to be sure you get the proper type. You can connect it to the available connectors on the existing ribbon and power cable... Then boot it up and simply do a disk utilities mount and format of your drive and you're good to go.
The drive in the G5 may not support DL discs. Open the system profiler (From the apple menu, select 'About This Mac' then select 'More Info'). Click on 'Disc Burning' in the left hand column. You will now get the details about the disc drive including which discs are supported.
The connector you have on the back of the video card is called and ADC connector, Dr. Bott used to make adatpers from ADC to DVI and ADC to VGA, but has since stopped making them, you should be able to those special adapters on ebay.
