Question about Music Hall MMF-5.1 Turntable

1 Answer

I played side 1 of an album. When I put the needle down on side 2, I no longer had a right channel. All connections were checked, that was the first thing I did. Any thoughts? I appreciate your time. Bob Schenkenfelder Mooresville, Indiana

Your system seems alright. May be recording is that way. If the side one is giving you both channels then there is no reason for side two not to follow side one. Try with some other albums. The problem lies with the album and not your system. And we can do nothing about the recording.

OK. You have proved that the fault lies with the system and not the recordings as you have tries different albums. Is it that you get right channel on all albums side one and no right channel on side two or is it that there is no right channel at all on all sides of all albums? Please clarify.

Recorded album and first track is cut at beginning everytime

you are going from a record(vinyl) to what before you are doing the ipod? a cd or a tape..when recording the tape..remember theres 30 seconds of plastic leader on those reels..need to forward the tape past that leader to the actual tape before the recording begins..the only other thing is that some recordings that are protected will automatically screw up your recording so as to stop copyright infringement..it may be sending a purposely blank signal for a brief period..and thats encoded into the original recording..

How to get dvd on tv

There are generally 2 ways to connect a dvd player to a tv.1 If you have 3 rca connectors on the back of your tv (they are color coded yellow for video and white and red for audio left and right channels respectively) and the same connectors on the back or side of the dvd player.Use rca cables to connect the dvd player to the tv,connecting yellow to yellow white to white and red to red.Using the remote put your tv on video.Put the channel selector on the dvd/vcr player on video or L1 or E1 (depending on what brand dvd/vcr you have).2 connect a rf (coaxial cable from the rf output of the dvd/vcr and connect this directly to the rf (antenna) input to your tv.Put the tv on channel 3.Play the dvd/vcr to see if you have the video. If not put the tv on channel 4.Some dvd/vcr's put their signals out on channel 3 and others on channel 4.Good luck.

What channel or setting is used on the TV to play a DVD?

Hi, Channel 3 or 4 might work for older TVs. Most new HDTV's have a mode setting in the menu. (Video 1 or 2 or 3) or (Component 1 or 2). On your remote you may have DVD button. Try all these suggestions, 1 of these will work. You can play with the remote too. Good luck.

it could be two things:
1.the tone arm wires that connect to the head shell (blue-red-green-white i think)
2. the needle arm has twisted round
Put it on the other deck if you've got one & see if it does it.
look right at the end of the needle tip,& see if it's straight & pointing down, if not carefully twist the needle arm round until it is,& push it into back in to the cartridge a little bit.

Dont know how to use the swr meter on my radio

With radio turned on

1. Switch the first switch (S/RF SWR CAL) to CAL setting
2. Key mic up &
3. Turn SWR CAL knob while still keying mic until the needle is on the red CAL arrow at the far end of the meter scale. Unkey mic.
4. Switch the first switch back to SWR setting.
5. Key mic up again and record SWR reading and adjust as needed.
6. When done adjusting put switch back in the S/RF setting for normal operation.

Do not flip the switch with the mic keyed up.

I have a soundlab iphono turntable. how do i transfer from pc to my ipod? it copies to pc itunes but will not go on ipod.

Are you able to play the music on your PC using iTunes? If so, then:

1: Connect your iPod and let the sync finish, but leave the iPod connected.
2: In iTunes, find you iPod on the left side of the screen, and click on it. This will bring up your iPod's summary info.
3: Find the "Music" tab across the top, and check "sync all music"
4: click "apply" down in the bottom right corner. This will cause your iPod to sync again, and should load up your album rips.

One of my DJ turntables = only left side stereo sound

need to narrow it down, using 1 turn table ONLY with the mixer on channel 1 (the chanel that is working) to test reciever is working properly and sound working on both side of the speakers, this eliminate the first turn table. Next, disconnect the working turn table (1) and connect your second turn table to the same chanel and see if you getting the sound coming chanel 1 just as your first turn table did. If you getting sound coming out from turn table on ch1 than is not the turn table issue. It will be you mixer having problems. You cant solve the problems having everything connected. Testing one turn table at a time using working chanel on the mixer to see if both turn table working properly. If you use the same chanel testing both turn table and the second one does not work than it will be one of your turn table is faulty. Note: if you find and test both of your turn table is working properly than it will be your mixer. good luck and hope that help..

Playlist problems

The only way you can get the tracks to play in order is to rename them before you put them on the player.

eg.

Album title - 01 - Track name
Album title - 02 - Track name
Album title - 03 - Track name

Album title - 10 - Track name

and so on

The albums will stay together, and the track number will put them in order within each album. Just remember to use 2 digit track numbers or they will sort 1, 10, 11, 12, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

Threading machine

The machine is relatively simple to thread. This is what I do and I've had no threading problems. 1. Put thread spool on the spool pin and put spool guard over spool pin to hold spool onto pin. 2. Take thread and put it under the bent tab by the circle tensioner. bring the thread around the right side of the circle tensioner and bring around the front of the circle tensioner thing back to the top hook on the far left side of the machine. 3. Take the thread around the backside of the top hook think until it threads through the flat piece on the left side of it. 4. Bring the thread down through the first (right side) channel and under the plastic piece to the second (left side) channel. 5. Bring the thread up the second channel and around the moving thread holder and past it's flat metal piece to hold it. 6. Tuck the thread around the small wire thread holder below the needle screw. This may take a few passes to catch it. 7. Thread the needle from the front and run the thread between the teeth of the presser foot. 8. Put a bobbin in the bobbin case so that the thread pulls off the bobbin from the left side of the bobbin if you look at it from above. 9. There is a small channel in the bobbin case that is covered by the bobbin tension flat piece. Pull the bobbin thread through this channel and into the empty space where the needle thread will catch. 10. Place the bobbin case into the machine with the little set bobbin arm pointed to the sky so that it fits into the machine without wiggling to the right or the left. 11. Turn the, uhhh brain fart, the hand wheel until the needle comes back up with the bobbin thread hooked over the needle thread. Take a narrow thing, like scissors or a seam ripper and pull both threads until the bobbin thread comes up. Now your machine is threaded. Use these directions with the pictures in the book to get this machine threaded.
