Found this after I had the same problem

The error code of 0x80070017 means it can't read the dvd. The good news is that you can fix it with little trouble. First of all, the only reason you have this error is if you downloaded the iso, legally or otherwise. I have been searching for the answer to this question for about 20 minutes with many different answers. After weeding out the ******** solutions, there is one that will work. . .

You have to reburn the iso at a slower speed. You will get much better results if you burn the dvd with the same drive that you will install it on. Perhaps Microsoft did this on purpose? If that doesn't work, try a different burn application. If that STILL doesn't work, get better media or actually buy the OS. :)

This error code and fix applies to Windows 7 installs as well.

I did buy this OS....don't know how to make a bootable cd. Wish I did. Thank you for your help. I think I have narrowed it down to an installer error.

OK, if it is an original disk, the problem is your DVD/CD ROM. You can try cleaning the optics with a CD cleaner disk and if that doesn't work you will need a replacement DVD/CD unit for the computer. This is exactly what happened to me and with a new burner in the computer the OS loaded first time.

Computer will reboot on Virus/Spyware scan at random. I have: 1. Installed clean XP SP2 parallel system and booted that one. Same problem. 2. Memory Test at boot time is OK. 3. Air circulation from Power...

The weak airflow from the power supply unit (PSU) is suspect. Virus / Malware scanning is a disk and processor intensive operation - resulting in greater load on both. Increased load translates to heat. Check to be sure that the processor (CPU) fan is running, too. An overheating PSU and CPU can cause all types of problems.

Are you using a genuine XP install disk/image or a disk of questionable origin? Use of bogus OS disks is "asking for trouble".

If your system BIOS or set up (accessed during boot) allows, try to located the page that displays component temperatures and fan speeds. Check this immediately after rebooting from a an unplanned shut down - if unable to locate this set up page, download HWMonitor at:

It is a free program - choose the 32 or 64 bit version. Note fan RPM and CPU core temps to help determine where heat is coming from - or which fans aren't operating correctly.

Hard disk not found error during Clean XP home Install

That happens because the BIOS uses a SATA controller that is not included in Windows XP install disk.

Usually you can solve the problem going to BIOS settings and changing SATA/RAID settings.Check your BIOS settings, and disable SATA RAID mode. This is done in different ways depending on the BIOS.

On HP/Compaq computers for example you press F2 on startup to enter BIOS, then disable SATA mode on bios settings.
On other makes the procedure can be slightly different.

Another way to fix the problem, is by creating your own XP setup disk with SATA drivers included, see:

Error during babel initialisation during execution of bad boys 2

Everyone, I have found the solution to this. The simple thing is this game was never made to run on Windows Vista or above.

You can fix this easily though - go to your desktop and you should see the Bad Boys II launcher, right click and then go to properties. Then click on the compatibility tab and tick the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode" and choose Windows XP.

Problem solved, if you want to thank me visit, to make some easy money.

System cann't take/set up windows-xp

I would suggest when you start the install of XP, chose to re-format you hard drive for a clean install. The Vista files need to be erased completely before XP will install on the drive. If you can, I would use fdisk first and then install XP. Let us know how it goes from here.
