How do I remove the ice maker from a Samsung model RF28HFEDT5R - normally I just lift slightly and remove but it stuck, probably ice restricting removal.

A blow dryer will work fine. but place a large towel so that it will absorb the runoff, but also to shield rest of the frozen food from being exposed to hot air. That may require two towels.

I have a Jenn Air JRSD209W refrigerator. The ice maker stopped making ice. So far I have replaced the water supply solenoid and the ice maker unit. The unit is cycling mechanically, but no water is...

Check the water line that goes from the water fill valve to the ice maker to see if it's frozen shut.
You can remove the ice maker water line from the water fill valve and see if you can blow air through it. If you can't blow through it then its frozen shut.
Sometimes they freeze shut if the water inlet valve was seeping a little water past it when it was off.
If that is the case you have already replaced it so after thawing the water line out you should be good to go.

No water to icemaker, but through the door water is working. Ice maker itself is ok.

This is most likely cause because some part of the ice maker/distribution mechanism is broken. If at all possible, remove everything from the fridge and freezer and allow the freezer to thaw. If that is not possible, you could try and remove just the ice maker to thaw it or try and thaw it while it is still in the freezer. I hope this helps and have a nice day!

I have a Jenn-Air Refig with the freezer on the bottom. The ICE maker is not working and I think it might be frozen. How do I disconnect the ice maker so i can thaw it out?

Why not do a quick thaw and move the frozen goods over to the firdge for a few minutes and grab a blow dryer. This should give a temporary fix until you can pin point the problem. Be kind to me please with a Thumbs up. I am a long ways away and can only help a little. Raz

The line to our ice maker is frozen solid with ice. Do you know how to get the ice out of it? I'd prefer to not have to defrost the whole thing.

Pull the refrig out from the wall and you will see where the single tube to the ice maker goes . Try removing the line housing straight out the back , and thawing at the sink . Or , 2 screws hold the ice maker on . Remove the ice maker and thaw the line with a hair dryer . You will need to replace the water valve ( the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig ) due to a seeping problem . When the valve does not close completely , drops will seep into the fill tube and freeze , thereby , blocking the normal rate of water , entering the ice maker .

Ice maker is not making any ice - appears it may be frozen due to door not being shut properly. Should we unplug and try to defrost /melt any build up, if thats the problem?

You may remove the ice maker and thaw it out. Let it dry and try again. Sometimes ice makers get caught between cycles and sometimes after taken out the dried and replaced they will again work. (Not Always) Let me know what happens and if you have problems please let me know, Please send your refrigerator model number, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Frigdaire side by side ice maker is a block of ice

Hi, You can remove the ice maker by removing the two screws on the top that fasten to the wall and most models have a screw on the under side.
Did you have to turn the water source off to stop the water from going into the ice maker? Sometimes a cube will not release and block the ice maker from turning.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Ice making feature not working

Most likely the ice fill tube has frozen up and will not allow the water to fill the ice maker. You will need to remove the icemaker (three small screws) and take a hair dryer and thaw out the fill tube. You can use a bent up coat hanger to reach in and remove some of the ice that is formed up in the tube as you thaw out the ice. Also check the Icemaker's actuator arm. This sometimes is hung up by a small piece of ice that hasn't dropped causing the Icemaker to shut off. (This is the first thing to check )

Ice maker doesn't work

When you say you are getting water do you mean you are getting water in the ice maker tray? If so then unfortunately you will need to replace the ice maker. If not getting water to the ice maker then make sure the fill tube to the ice maker isn't frozen shut. If so, thaw it out and see what happens. If it isn't frozen shut then replace the ice maker. New ge ice makers, when installed, will not cycle until the ice maker gets below freezing so you will have to wait once it is installed.
