Thanks for the reply Jaime, I always thought I would be o.k because I am hooked into an APC surge protector - Now I wonder what difference does it make whether you have a surge protector or not.

Any suggestions on a new monitor or can this one be repaired - Later Paul

Thanks for the reply Jaime. I always thought that suing a surge protector would avoid this. I guess I was wrong. What differnece does it make whether a surge protector is used or not. The one I have is APC surge arrest (personal) -

Can my monitor be repaired and/or do you have a suggestion ona new monitor.

    Later

If the power supply failed after a power failure is not a good sign because when the power came back it was higher then 120 VAC and could have damaged the microprocessor. Most of today power supplies are not well regulated and a slight increase on the 120 VAC it will also increase in the power supply, giving more power then needed.
It could have damage the power module as well.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

SuperWarehouse.com just says it requires anywhere from 110-240 volts AC (which isn't very specific) and uses 48 watts. I don't see anywhere online that lists the DC power output... sorry. If you could get a manual for it that might help.

LCD FAILURE

More likely the power supply/inverter board may have failed due to bad DC caps which happen after about 2~3 years.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). Are you getting any indicator light on the front panel? Main AC fuse is OK? You need to check and see if the 5vdc and the 12vdc power supply is working, these two voltages should be present the minute the monitor is plugged into the wall outlet.
If you can send me pictures, then I may be able to guide you more, budmrtn@aol.com

My Dell 1905FP LCD monitor Power light blink on startup

Hello,

This is a classic symptom of filter capacitor failure on the power supply board. The Dell 1905FP and 1907FP both use the same power supply and this type of failure is very common. You can repair the unit by replacing the filter capacitors on the power supply board. Here is a picture of the board with the problem capacitors circled and below is a link to a repair guide for this series monitor.

As for your notice no power does not meant the the fuse only blow. There might be other component shorted. Or if you have the technical background surely it will help you much.

No picture on the screen

Hi,

I have this Panasonic PanaSync SL70 17'' monitor, I don't use it often. It is still in very great shape. However, I tried to turn it on yesterday, I got a black screen. The power LED is on and I can hear the relay is clicking when signal received. I tried to remove the signal cable, I can see it turns to power saving mode. It seems that everything works fine except no picture. I am if the transformer is gone, but not sure. I am wondering if you can help?
