HD TV flat screen

I purchased a Sanyo TV model DP26648 for the upstairs bedroom 10 days ago. My niece, age 12, has been watching it yesterday & today. The TV has started turning itself off yesterday and has done it more today. I checked with the satellite company. They found nothing wrong with their satellite. They said check the electrical wall outlet and the TV. I checked the wall outlet. It's good. It's not the surge protector. TV goes off whether connected thru the surge protector or directly to the wall. Do you have any ideas?

There is a timer that you can set to turn the tv off automatically. The timer settings is between 30 min. and 3 hours, maybe she has hit the timer button by mistake.

2008 sanyo lcd tv DP26648 power turns on but no picture or sound

likely a mainboard or power supply capacitor issue.
if you have the soldering skills fix it, otherwise time to replace the TV.
If you can de-solder and solder in new capacitors make sure you are using high quality capacitors be very causious of capacitors purchased from auction sites.

Neither "solution" is a solution. Anyone actually

Hi,
Your problem is the T-con board. This is gone bad/faulty. I would advice you to replace it with new T-con board and your unit will back to normal again. You may look for the replacement online. Try ebay.com or shopjimmy.com.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

I need to hook up to digital cable

Connect the cable to your TV's antenna input jack. Through the TV setup menu, perform a digital cable search. This is a separate operation from the full channel scan. The TV manual says this may take up to 10 minutes, so be patient. The set should find the channels on your system. When you want to watch TV, press the INPUT button on your remote to select Digital RF as the source. Press INPUT again to select any other source (DVD, etc.) you have connected when you want to watch that.

I was wrong about needing a converter. This TV has a tuner that can pick up the cable channels if they use a system called QAM. Verizon says QAM-capable sets don't need a box for non-scrambled or premium channel, so you should be good once you have the TV scan channels.

I couldn't find the DP26648 manual at Sanyo's site, so my solution is based on the DP26647 manual. They should be similar. You can download the manual here if you don't have the manual for your set.

Sanyo DP26648 cable problems

I have a sanyo dp26648, just had it over 90 days and it quit. I can hear the sound, but no picture at all. Just a bright white screen. I can't even go to the menu. I bought the extended warranty but there in not anyone in my area to fix it. They told me I would have to wait until they found one close.
