Question about Sony CDX-GT520 FM / AM Receiver

1 Answer

I'm re-wiring the sony cdx gt520 stereo on my son's 2000 Grand Am. I have the Sony wiring diagram but have one problem...there is a light blue wire on the Sony harness that is NOT covered in the wiring instructions for the stereo. Does anyone know what the light blue wire is for? I know the blue/white stripe wire is for the AMP. The Sony diagram shows 13 wires and I have 14 wires coming out of the harness.

It signals to the powered aerial so if you do not have one you can ignore it!

No sub signal from a CDX GT520.

connect the speake(sub) directly to the stereo(just use one of the rear 6x9 speaker wire to test the sub and make sure it's not the amp. if it does not work, it's the sub

I need a wiring diagram for a sony CDX-RA700 car stereo, I already have the breakdown of the wires coming from my truck (since someone cut the original harness). Now I need to know what the ones comiong...

look on the wires... the letters are small but they should tell you...

Red is hot
Black Ground
Yellow constant
orange should be for antenna
blue is for remote

I can't remember the speaker breakdown... but again, look carefully, and you should see it.

Can a sony cdx-gt52w be installed into a 2005 kia sorento? The wires don't match up. Do I have to rewire?

I just got a mounting kit so the deck would fit. I got the mounting kit to support a 205 kia sorento lx. Then you just get a wiring harness for your vehicle and match up the wire colors on your wiring harness to the ones on the wires that came with the cd player. That's how I did it and it worked great. If you go to any best buy or car stereo place they will have most if not all your parts that you will need and also they can install it for you. But my suggestion is to try it first because I saved 70 dollars doing it my self.
