SOURCE: No color output from philips 751/171 dvd player

Hello.

The RF modulator sends on a certain frequernzy(Channel) usally around channel 36 on UHF. If there is a adjustmen screw on it try and turn it util the picture disapears and then search for it on the tv again just to make sure nothing else is interfearing on the channel the RF modulator is sending on now.

An alternative if there is no adjustment on your RF modulator would be to change the frequenzy on your VCR or other devices attached to your TV that might send on the same frequenzy as your RF modulator.

Regards..

SOURCE: 15PF9936/12 Flat TV

I had this problem on my 42" Philips. Just got it yesterday and worked fine on the tv stand. As soon as I mounted the TV to the wall via wall mount system, I had the exact same issue you did. Figured it out today.

The wall mount was putting pressure against the center of the back of the tv (tv set had a slightly rounded back plate, and the mount was a flat plate). As soon as I put spacers (part of the wall mount hardware set) between the wall mount braket and the tv so there was no contact except at the mounting holes, the tv worked fine.

My theory is the pressure pushed the tv back plate against some board components which caused them to overheat (no air flow); or put pressure on internal connectors. I dont know.

Hope this helps, may not apply to your situation.

SOURCE: I've lost the power cord for a Philips 15pf9936/12

That should just be a standard PC power cord. Any computer shop or store that sells computers should have them. You can even find them in dollar stores (a lot cheaper too)

After about 30-60 minutes TV starts to hum and picture gets distorted, could this be the color wheel...???

Sounds like a sync problem due to color wheel speed. clean and lubricate color wheel motor with tiny amount of Z-Max lubricant (liquid Buckey balls, available at Wal-Mart), on each bearing. make sure wheel is free-wheeling and turns easily. Should cure problem. If the color wheel is in good shape, there is a power supply problem, which may be due to dried out electrolytic capacitors or a regulator that's failing. Troubleshooting or controller board replacement may be needed. Regards.

I have a Philips dlp60pl...the picture flickers and the color turn red to green then back to normal color, could this be the bulb.

No.Do the tv pictures colors back ground flashes black and white when this problems happen?Ur tv now make any humming sound or motor noises?Yes,than the tv colors wheel it is the causes and the problems. The tv colors wheel it is dying and starting to be worn out.The tv colors wheel itself it is starting to come out of the spinning motor axis. The tv colors wheel have to be replace to fix this problems. The tv colors wheel sit way back of the tv,must have to take out many mechanical parts before u can even come to the tv colors wheel itself to replace it.If u have no mechanical skills don't tries to replace the tv colors wheel ur self.Hire a tv Tech. to replace the tv colors wheel it is ur best bet.

My Philips 36'' CRT TV won't turn on.

Hi - Yes. There are high voltage components in your CRT TV that only a certified TV repair shop should repair. And the cost of that would likely be over $100 so you are definitely better off getting a new LCD TV. You will also save a great deal of electricity with your new TV, my 55" only uses $19 worth of electricity a year. And the picture is much better as well.
Have fun shopping!

Philips rear projection color and pic problems

I had the exact same problem with my Magnavox TV. The screen would shrink then expand. After thrity minutes it would correct itself. Then one day it just broke - no sound and no video. I searched these forums but did not find clear instructions or kits on how to fix it. I gave up and called in a repair tech. He fixed my TV in less than 30 minutes.

To help others I documented the fix and created a repair kit and step by step quide on how to fix the problem. You can find it here. http://www.magnavoxhelp.com
