S video stays on screen on my 27 Philips tv. How do i hide it? Also tv has black at top and bottom of screen, how can i get full screen display?

Do a factory reset to this set, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Need information on a philips t.v. model 32PT6441/37

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

clip_image001.jpg
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

hope this may help;

Regards,

Tv word factory screen remove

What is the brand name to your TV? Your TV is now in service mode [factory mode] now. That is why, it shows the display 'Factory' on screen. You have to quit the service mode. Then only you can enter into its normal menu. But, entering and exiting factory mode/service mode, to different brand TVs will not be the same. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this link. It has service mode entry and exit methods to many brand TVs. Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar, or, view it in 'Timeslide' option. Look for the service mode entry and exit method to your brand TV. You'll get details there.

Switch the TV to analogue mode (if possible)

Press and hold the "MENU" button on the side of the TV. The settings menu should appear. Continue to hold the menu button until this menu disappears. (If you let go before the menu disappears, start again)

The TV should now go blank for up to 2 minutes, and then revert to factory settings and intitial installation screen.

Procede as per original installation.
