My Maytag model nos. MGR5775QDW oven when trying to bake will not heat any higher than 100 degrees.

I have a Maytag MGR5775QDW gas range.I have changed the igniters on the bake and broil burners. The broiler will ignite as it did before the new parts were installed, but only on the self clean cycle. There seems to be a switch in series with the door lock that allows the gas to flow independantly from the bake and broil cycles.Should I change the gas regulator assembly next or is there some other module in series with the igniters.I don't think it is the oven sensor.

My burners, broiler, and controls work but the oven will not heat up. It's reads 100 degrees and never changes.

The igniter has failed. In many cases, even if the igniter is glowing, the resistance may not be low enough to turn on the gas valve.($50.00 to $90.00 for igniter). The igniter can get hot enough to raise the temperature 100 to 120 degrees without activating the gas valve.

I have a maytag model # mgr5775qdw and the oven will not ignite. I know it is not the gas line as the burners all light, and the broiler lights as well. It is only the oven that does not heat. . .what...

This could be two possible problems. The igniter maybe bad, but doubt it. The igniter works both the oven and broiler, I believe on this model. The first thing I suspect is the switch in your wiring harness. The harness has a switch attached to it for each manifold. The switch for your oven maybe out.

Neither the oven nor the broiler burners will light. In both cases, the igniter glows, but no gas to the burner.

UNLESS DOUBLE OVEN THE BROILER BURNER HEATS THE OVEN. AND THERE WOULD ONLY BE ONE IGNITER. WHICH IS PROBABLY DEFECTIVE AS THAT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WHEN USING IGNITER.

The ignitor in the stove heats up, but we don't get a flame in the oven. The burners and broiler work fine. What's broken?

Hi. This sounds like a weak igniter, the symptoms usually are: burner won't light, or takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Oven doesn't light. I have a Maytag MGR5750. The pre-heat light comes on but no ignition. Stove top burners work okay.

First thing to do is verify if the hot surface igniter or spark igniter is working. If the oven has a bottom broiler compartment then you can check from the bottom compartment. If it has a top broiler then you may need to remove the inner bottom cover inside the oven to look at the burner and igniter. Now turn on the oven and watch for the hot surface igniter to start to glow or the spark igniter to come on. If the igniter comes on then give the gas control valve(located at the bottom broiler/storage compartment) a tap with a wrench or a screwdriver. If the burner comes on then shut the oven back off and on several times COMPLETELY. If it works then you may have fixed the problem by dislodging debris in the valve. If it does not come back on then the gas control valve may be defective or the igniter could be weak. The igniter should be tested with a ohm meter and if it tests good(500-700 ohms usually) then the gas control valve will need to be replaced otherwise the igniter is bad. On spark ignition systems there is a different procedure. Another thing to check is the "runaway valve" that is located on the gas regulator for the range. It is a little lever located where the oven gas pipe comes off the regulator and cuts the gas to the burner when closed.

under the floor of the oven, possibly can be see by removing the bottom drawer. the ignitor is hte most common aprt to go bad in any gas oven, visually it might not even look broken though and some even appear to glow(just not strong enough to open gas valve
