It sounds like something in the tuner section of the circuit board is bad.I searched a few regular sites i use for downloadable manuals and none have any for rear projection TV's.Here is a link if you want to try Mitsubishi's site if you want to contact them, but i left it at the section to lookup consumer parts for your model and it said there were none available.Perhaps first you would like to call a local TV shop and ask a few questions.I guarantee if they want to come to your house to look at it,minimum$50 for them just to show up and possibly more.Ask exactly what that $50 does for you,if it will be extra for them to take apart or troubleshoot anything.Call acouple more and compare results.Reports are for this upcoming holiday season that there is going to be quite an overstock of LCD's,causing low prices,if you are considering replacing them, which if you do,definitely contact me again and I can give you some good info on what to look for in LCD's.It is nearly impossible for me to know what you decide unless you reply here. When you do,I get an autolink to your post and will reply ASAP.Also if you replace, you can call me straight from the store if you want and I can tell you how good a deal you will get when you look.It is somewhat against policy for me to supply certain contact info, but I sometimes do because I am satisfied helping people who may not know when they are getting ripped off and so many places do get away with it.Easily less than 10% of the questions I answer even have the opportunity to earn any money, and they have to be approved.I only type with 2 fingers so I end up spending alot of free time typing free answers because I am that disgusted by these industries.I have worked in them and seen it first hand and saw how it was taught to be done.I have experience in many product and repair services.Rear project are quite outdated.Kind of like the stupid way computers move along.ANY questions/problems,please post back.Good luck! I wanted to tell you about IC's so before it I checked and you can learn electricity and the basics for IC's as well as much more just on the net.IC's are 100's of layers of silicone wafers which have tiny circuits in them, not in the sense you think but very basic stuff. It uses logic gates, there are 7 kinds,to use information,a simple electric voltage is there or it isn't,that's it.In each layer there may be just one or several.Considering the technology they are very cheap to make and sell.Silicone is cheap. It easily costs more to make the metal in the pins than the silicone.I googled logic gates and it's all right there for learning but need to learn other stuff. If you are good at math which you seem to just by having a meter and knowing how to use it,it looks tough right now but you will find out how simple it is.

The manual http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/pdf/ownersguides/VS-45609.pdf
no, here is no easy solution: the tuner - the part in which the cable plugs in and that actually receives the channel - has been fried by a power surge and must be replaced. For that the tv must be opened, the old tuner unsoldered from the board and a replacement one soldered back in. It will cost you about $75 for a new tuner plus what the repairman that you must call will ask for the 1 hour labor.

Is the Magnavox TFT LCD 17 MF200v/17 have a digital or analog tuner?

I believe it has an analog tuner (NTSC) only. The original remote is pictured here: http://www.replacementremotes.com/philips/buy-313923807911-remote-control.html . The TV is listed as having been available in 2004 from Amazon.com. The manufacturer didn't have to include a digital tuner until 2005 for 36"+ models. For a 17" TV, they didn't have to have a tuner until 2007.

I hope this helps.

Vizio remote

The remotes for the TV and Direct TV box are universal remotes that can operate very basic functions for whatever else they are programmed to control. If you can program the TVs remote to operate the Direct TV box it will basically only control power and channel. Maybe something else, but not much. The same goes for the Direct TV remote. It will control basic functions on the TV; power, channel & volume. Best bet would be to purchase a universal remote that can learn functions from the original or just keep both remotes available by the TV.

PIP (Picture In Picture) - Your television should have the capability because it has two built in tuners. It can show two channels at the same time or show one channel and one video source (whatever is connected to the audio/video inputs). However, because you are using DTV (Direct TV) you are very limited because you are not using the built in tuners on your television. You should be able to see one picture from the DTV channel and one from lets say your DVD player. If your DTV box has two tuners built in then you should have the PIP capabilities from your DTV and not your television. I'm guessing your DTV is a single tuner (one satellite cable to your box). If you want to watch two different channels you'll need to either upgrade your box or attach another box to your television.

Option: you could also connect an antenna to your television this way you can use the PIP function. Obviously you'll only be able to view whatever local stations you can get with the antenna. Depending on where you live you might or might not have a lot of channels to choose from.

New flatscreen/remote not working

Try these simple trick to find out yor remote control working or not....
Point the remote control towards the Camera of a Mobile Camera phone, with the camera on. While pressing remote, we can see a light (Infra Red) coming from its IR LED through the Mobile Camera if the Remote is working.
If your Remote is ok, then the problem with the Remote sensor or related components of the device.

Using remote to play video DVD

You need to bypass your A/V tuner for your video connections (if possible). Plug your video directly into the TV and audio into the tuner. This will also give you a cleaner signal/picture as it does not have to processed by your tuner BEFORE it goes to your tv. Think of it as cutting out the middle man. Your tuner is best left for powering your speaker and not controlling your video despite all of the available connections in the back of it.

I would also get rid of your VHS and cassette players as they are dead technology. Clean up your system and remove the clutter. This will lessen your chance of getting interference. Good luck!!

Ilo problem

What I hear you saying is that your main television tuner shows lines only while the PIP is functioning properly. The PIP works by using a separate tuner from the main tuner of your television (like a vcr tuner). Since the PIP works then it appears that your main tv tuner is not working anymore. It will probably have to be replaced. I recommend looking at our online technician list for a professional near you.

Good luck :)

No Picture on Mitsubishi v45605 rear projection tv

If it works the way you have it setup now, leave that way. Plug all your video sources to the denon if possible and leave it that way.
If the denon has the feature to change channels like a cable converter then you can use it or if you still have a VCR you can also use it as a tuner just to tune the cable channels and use the audio/video outputs from it to the TV or denon receiver.
The tuner might not even be available anymore and if it's, is expensive.
Good Luck.

Let me know what you find out, I have a similar problem. I can get the PIP screen to come up but it will not allow me to have it on an input that actually shows a picture - just blue screen.

Connecting my tv and vcr so i can use the vcr remote control

You can always push "03" on a universal remote programmed to work your TV. A better solution is to connect the devices properly. You shouldn't use the tuner inputs for a VCR/DVD player, or you will get a poorer picture and no stereo sound. See the instruction manual for your player and TV. Use a stereo audio/video cable to connect them and select the proper input. The instructions will hopefully clarify this.

Can't get any channels on the air.\

If the tuner is the problem then it is a very bad problem as the tuner is part of the DM module and that is very expensive. When you say you have to manually key in the channels, do they work then? If so the problem is not the tuner. If your only problem is that you cannot go from one channel to the other by using the channel up and down button on the remote, then you have most likely just lost the programming on the tv. Go into menu and set up and find the auto channel programming and run auto program to correct the problem.
