My Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX8 camera keeps breaking.
I'll turn it on, and the screean will be black. I can take pictures, but i just can't see what i'm taking a picture of.
I'll plug the camera into my TV to review my pictures, and when its plugged into my TV, the screen works. Then when i turn it off & black on again, it's black.
My battery is fully charged...
Is there any way i can fix it at home, [like is something wrong with the setup of the camera that can be fixed?] or am i going to have to go through all of the trouble of getting it specially fixed or just getting a new camera?

I have the same problem. I found that perhaps this is a contact problem inside the camera. I found that if I press thespace above the menu dial the screen turns on. Sometimes I have to hold it for a while.
Recent problem. When I turn the camera on, the screen is very dark-I can still take pics but just have to guess if I'm aiming in right direction. Screen resolution settings are fine - tried to reset to factory settings but no change. THEN one day, switched on and all worked fine again for approx 1 month. Now AGAIN, it's gone very very dark (can see image in bright sunlight or direct light so the screen is working - just the brightness is very dull. Took to a camera fix shop and they said I needed a new 'illuminator' although not sure how they worked this out given they just listened to what I said without looking at the camera itself. Is this an expensive fix? or can I do something else? I saw another blog which said take the batteries out for a minute or two, then reinsert. But that didn't work. Help :)
