Question about Logitech Wireless Mouse M505

Open Question

My Logitech M505 Wireless Mouse seems to be making my laptop malfunction - my laptop thinks I have selected the right click button and keeps popping up the right click menu from any page I have open (or from the desktop, or from the start menu / icons along the bottom). It then randomly selects options from that right click menu, and/or flashes the menu up and down repeatedly. It's really difficult to then get my laptop to work at all! The only way I've been able to get round this is to remove the mouse - I've tried the mouse in another laptop and the same thing starts to happen (I didn't wait to see if the problem was as bad in case it causes longer term problems with the laptop!) - I've also tried using it on different surfaces. Are you able to help?!

SOURCE: My Logitech LX5 wireless optical mouse has never worked properly

hi im josh in cebu phils.may i help you? Friend try my gathered solutions. This problem has a simple solution—replace your batteries! Low batteries in a wireless device will cause all sorts of problems. In a mouse, this typically means that the cursor slows down, jerks around, or seems to hit an invisible wall. Fresh batteries should fix things right up.
If new batteries don't fix the problem, you have some sort of wireless interference. Try moving the wireless receiver to a new position—preferably away from other wireless devices (wireless network adapters/base stations, cordless phones, baby monitors, and the like). If interference continues, see if you can change transmitting/receiving channels on one of the devices, or consider turning off the interfering device while you're computing. Good luck friend hope i helped you.

Can't right or left click on inspirion 1501, touchpad is fine.

It would appear that the left/right touch pad buttons have failed. You will have 3 options at this point in time.
1) Use an external wireless mouse such as a Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 for roughly $39.99
2) Use alternative features on the laptop. Left click is typically simulated by tapping or double tapping the touch pad itself and right click can be simulated, in most cases, by single tapping the icon and pressing the pop-up menu button, typically located between the right alt and ctrl buttons.
3) Search for a replacement component online and replace the component. Touch pad replacement will require you to remove all casing screws from the laptop and then remove the case. You will then expose the screws and cabling for the touch pad. I can not give more detailed instructions as this varies per laptop model.

I found my wireless mouse yesterday. A logitech M305. When I plug it into my laptop it either says that it is not recognized by windows, or that the device has malfunctioned.

you might have to uninstall the mouse then restart your computer then reinstall the mouse and its drivers
make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable)
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have options to update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot
also click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to mice and other pointing devices you might see a yellow exclamation mark !or question mark ? or a red x right you will have options to update driver software, disable, uninstall, scan for hardware changes and properties
in xp
hope this helps

I have a Logitech Laser Mouse #M-RBY125. While typing the cursor jumps to different places on the page or disappears completely. Windows automatically open for no reason. Sometimes highlights sentences...

To adjust your mouse movements: To change the pointer speed and customize your cursor, please do the following:
  1. Launch SetPoint (Start > Programs > Logitech > Mouse and Keyboard > Mouse and Keyboard Settings).
  2. Select the My Mouse tab and click the Mouse Movement tab on the left. Select the Wireless Mouse M505/B605 from the Select Mouse drop-down list.

  3. Use the sliders and check boxes to find the mouse settings that are right for you. Click Help to find detailed descriptions of these options for your mouse.
  4. Click Apply to save your settings. Click OK to exit SetPoint.
Good Luck

I have a lenovo laptop. i also have a cordless logitech mouse.i have installed the driver for logitech cordless mouse from internet.it is not working. What do i do next?thanks

Hi,

I have a wireless mouse and keyboard by Logitech as well and in order to make it work you don't only istall the drivers for that device but you also have to manually add the mouse to your computer's hardware.

Try to go to CONTROL PANEL
>click on PRINTERS AND DEVICES
>right click anywhere on that page and click on ADD A DEVICE
>press the connect button of your wireless mouse
>your mouse will be detected then
>click on its icon and click on ADD DEVICE
>it will successfully establish the bluetooth connection and your mouse is ready to use

Wireless Optic Logitech mouse performace

I had the exact same problem with my original Logitech wireless mouse that came with a wireless keyboard. I eventually figured that the button component inside the mouse wasn't making consistent contact causing unintended double clicking or dropping while dragging. I fixed it by doing some soldering to switch the left mouse button with the right mouse button, since I didn't have to use double clicking or dragging with the right mouse button. It worked pretty well for several months until the switched left button started showing the same problem again. Now my newer Logitech mouse (it's more expensive Nano wireless mouse) is having the same problem after about 1 year using it. I think there's a serious durability problem with the button component that Logitech is putting on their mice. I may do the same trick again on this mouse, but now I don't consider Logitech as a good mouse manufacturer anymore. They used to make good quality hardwares but I guess they aren't that good anymore with all those cheap Chinese suppliers for their parts. :(

Microsoft Wireless 5000 Mouse

Normal 0 I think what is happening is that the buttons on the Left & Right side is being bumped and causing the problem.
Go to Control Panel and click on the Mouse icon. When the window opens showing the mouse, select the button you want to change and click on the drop down and set as desired.
Hope this helps. Bud
