NEC IT 3640 copier - login screen with user name and password appeared. We have no user name or password programmed into the copier. How can I get pass this screen?

How can I get into service mode for NEC IT 3640.


Ok, I realize this machine is already EOL, but if anyone else runs into this issue, I found the answer here.
  1. Press the "Utility" button
  2. Press the "Access" button
  3. Press * four times
  4. Press the "Maint" soft button on the touch screen
  5. Press the "Service Mode" soft button on the touch screen
Once you are in there, you can reset the admin password by pressing the "Administrator # Initialize" soft button, and that will reset the admin password back to the default 00000000. Evidently, this works for a few other models of NEC copiers as well.

Entering service mode on an nec 2840


Ok, I realize this machine is already EOL, but if anyone else runs into this issue, I found the answer here.
  1. Press the "Utility" button

  4. Press the "Maint" soft button on the touch screen
  5. Press the "Service Mode" soft button on the touch screen
Once you are in there, you can reset the admin password by pressing the "Administrator # Initialize" soft button, and that will reset the admin password back to the default 00000000. This is actually for an IT3640, but evidently, this works for a few other models of NEC copiers as well.

How can I get my login password for windows


I take it you are running Windows Vista Home Basic? Do you have more than the one account on it that can download programs?If the answer to both is yes, then try this:
1.Download and install ophcrack with recommended settings.
2. Run the ophcrack program and it will scan your laptop for all Windows user accounts.
3. The Windows user names will appear in the top region of the screen once the search is complete.
4. Click on the user name you desire to recover a password for. Your password will be extracted and displayed in the "NT Pwd" column on the right side of the screen next to your user name.
5. WRITE THE PASSWORD DOWN.
6. Restart the computer through the Start menu.
7. Login to the account you just recovered the password for.

1.Switch ON/Boot the system,
2.Login screen appears Press Ctrl+Alt+Del
3.User name:Administrator Press ok
4.Right click on My Computer icon in desktop-select Manage-Select Local users &Groups(LeftPane)-double click on Users (Right Pane) -select your username -Right click-Reset password-here you can set the password-ok
5.LogOff &Login again

Another business we share an office with wants to use our photocopier. How do we set up their own password to enable this to work.

Up to 500 user accounts can be registered.
NOTE: You must be a System Administrator to perform this solution.
  1. Press the [Log In / Out] button on the Control Panel. The Login screen will be displayed.
  2. Enter the System Administrator userID using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel, or select the [Keyboard] button on the Touch Screen to enter the userID, and then select [Save] on the Touch Screen.
  3. If necessary, enter the System Administrator password using the numeric keypad, or select the [Keyboard] button to enter the password, and then select [Save] on the Touch Screen.

Don't understand how to set password. please help


Plug the router into the power socket and configure you own machine to obtain IP address automatically. Load up Internet explorer and type in http:/192168.xxx.xxx which is the local address of your router. You should then get a password screen. Enter default user name and password and it will take you to the configuration screen. The full IP address and user name and password are dependant on which model you have. See list below From there you need to read the instructions very carefully and match it with the information provided by your ISP.

How to make an hp laptop go to the log in screen


The login screen will not appear if you have Windows set to login automatically. You will have to log out first. Try this:

Save & close all programs you have open.

Click the START button

Click LOG OFF

When it asks if you want to log off, click LOG OFF

The login screen should now appear

If you want to change your password, picture, or add or delete accounts, you need to login again, then follow these steps:

Type in password and login

Click START button

Click CONTROL PANEL

Go to USER ACCOUNTS

From here you can make changes to login and user account information

I am trying to install a photosmart all in one C5180 on my pc running Vista. It keeps saying that the program cannot be installed as use by and asking me to log on as the Administrator. I AM the...


This is normal with Vista, Vista log in users as standard (not Administrator privileges) , then ask if to run programs as administrator for security reasons. Once you tell the system to run program as administrator it should install with no problems.
If you really cannot install the program, you can restart computer and login as administrator:
At the "pick a user to login" screen, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to get the classic login screen. Then you can type in Administrator for the user name, default password is blank.
