Question about Intel D845GVSR Motherboard

1 Answer

Not booting Was given an intel d845gvsr motherboard with its original emachines base unit -motherboard had failed. Now on my 2nd replacement from eBay & same problem. Green light comes on but no response when power switch pressed. Have checked other components in a working P4 system - cpu, memory, psu, cpu fan, on/off switch, power cable & all o.k. Tried mobo with and without securing screws, in and out of case. Have also tried clearing cmos, starting with only the essentials (cpu, memory, fan) but still nothing. Am quite experienced & have done several successful mobo replacements in the past, know how to safeguard againt esd etc. Any suggestions? Does this board have some kind of safety cut-out & if so, how do you reset it? thanks, Mike.

have you verified a good PSU and mobo together? emachines are notorious for bad psu's.

useing to light of a power source try a 450watt power conductor.
24/4 connector and try replaceing power switch .lala linda

Intel D845EPI/D845GVSR MB problem

if you can get past the POST properly and see the drive size, nothing is wrong with the drive hardware. I think XP is seeing a previous boot sector install so try first to fdisk, format and system boot the drive. This should remove any boot sector "shadows".
