There are no adjustments for pump. Amount of water it will pump is set by pump design. The way I read your posting is the pump picks up prime but not enough delivery. Check your connections (pipes) make sure your not sucking air on any of them. check for obstructions in discharge. Are you sure the water source will handle a pump this size? Its possible also the foot valve is stuck.

How do I prime my flotec 4022 pump

A number of Flotec pump manuals are available here: http://www.flotecpump.com/ResidentialResourcePage_resourcepage_ownersmanuals.aspx . The site lists a FP4022-10 pump with the direct link to the manual here: http://www.flotecpump.com/resources/images/514.pdf .

For this type of pump, there should be a priming plug or priming tee. Remove the plug (or tee) and pour water into the pump. Keep adding water until the pump and all of the piping to the well is full of water. If a priming plug or tee was also added on the suction side of the pump, open that section and fill all of the piping on the suction side with water. Replace the plugs/tees then open a faucet in the house. Start the pump. After 2-3 minutes, turn off the pump if no water has come through the unit. Add more water through the priming plug or tee (or multiple plugs and tees). Then repeat closing the priming ports and start the pump after opening a faucet. Once the pump is actually pumping water, turn off the open faucet. Wait for the pump to shut off once it reaches full pressure. Open one or two faucets to check that the pump is properly sensing the pressure changes and maintaining system water pressure.

If the unit didn't pull water from the well, check the piping for air leaks. See the full trouble-shooting guide in the manual. Page 9 has the priming information and page 10 has the trouble-shooting guide.

I hope this helps.

Does this pump Dynamo DYN 11-n1-1 serial no 1-23-JO9 have to be backwashed and if so...how?

Pumps don't need to be backwashed, some filters do. Sand and DE filters need to be backwashed when the filter pressure has increased to 10 or 11 psi. depending on the manufacturers recommendation. The cartridge filter cannot be backwashed but instead it is removed and a hose sprayer is used to clean out the dirty outside. Your pump does need to be primed so it is not trying to pump mostly air. Each time the pump basket area is low in water then it needs to be primed. You will know how low it can go before it needs to be priming by turning it on when it is low and if it cannot start pumping water at full rate then at that level of water it needs to priming. If it is pumping water at full flow and you turn it off it should not need re-priming because there is enough water in it to force the air through the system. I hope this helps.

Trying to prime pump with no success. Pump is working, but when the water I prime with leaves the pump no water is entering the from my well. Well was used last summer and fall with no problems

Main thing: ensure that there are absolutely no air leaks in the piping from the inlet of the pump to where the pipe goes into the ground. All fittings must be tight.
Make sure there are no plugs missing on any check valve in that piping.
Put water in the pump and open a valve on top of the pump just enough to vent air, but no enough to let all the water come right out. Good Luck.

Shallow well pump every two days losing its prime it takes five cups of water to re prime

You should have a check valve installed on the incoming water line ( suction line) of the pump. This should keep the water from leavin the pump. if you still need to prime then there is a leak on the incoming line from the ground to the pump and you will need to have a well company come out and install a new line.

I replaced CVA-24 VALVE....now when I turn on pool filter no water being pulled through..no water being pulled through to pump

Your pump has probably lost its prime. This is either because it got too much air or not enough water. Try priming. This should make your pump start working again. Any time pool pumps have to be services, they need to be re-primed. In case you are not sure how, remove the pot lid and fill the pot with water. Re-add and clamp the pot lid. Open the air release valve on the filter and stand clear. Turn on switch or time clock. When water comes out of the air release valve, close the valve. If it is a two speed pump, make sure it is on high speed.

Our water pressure in our house is gone. we have a well. do you think the well is out of water? do we just need to wait till it rains?

If you did manage to run enough water to dry the well, it should only be temporary, until enough groundwater flows back to your well. This should only take maybe an hour and shouldn't depend on frequent rain. If your well did respond to rain, your well would be quickly contaminated. However, there could be other problems. If you have the type of well where the pump is located down in the ground, and your water pressure doesn't come back soon, then you have a problem in that the pump is not working. If you have a "shallow well" type of pump, where the pump is located above ground (in your basement, or under the house) then the pump may have lost it's prime. A shallow-well pump needs the pump to be full of water before it can pump the water from the well.

Can't get it prime

Hi,
You either have an air leak or you have a foot/check vlave problem that is just letting all the water run through and not allowing you to prime... these can be very difficult to prime even in the best conditions...
Yes, you could melt the impeller, but probably not... they are very hard to get enough of a grip on to get hem off... I have destroyed many and just replaced them with new after I got them off...

I have a flotec water pump that sits on top of my pressure tank, pump worked ok last season, and when we tried to prime the pump to start this season, it wont pull water up from the well pipe, pump will...

if the pump is working correctly, it can either be, need more water to prime it, or something in the well, such as low water, plugged filter, etc....sometimes when you have a system that is intermittently used, it can take 20 or 30 minutes of continuous priming to get it to pull, enough water to maintain the prime.

Engine runs well but hardly and water comes out

A pressure washer pump shouldn't have to be primed, as it is under water pressure from your hose. You're right, the problem is somewhere in the pump. Try looking for the owners manual online. You can find most on the manufacturers website. no charge. See if the troubleshooting guide in the manual helps.

Pool pump won't prime. Impeller replaced, worked for a couple of days. I changed the filter now same as original problem won't prime. I thought perhaps it was clogged; however since it was running and...

sounds like a priming problem. look at the check valve in front of the pump in the suction line. sounds as if it is loosing its prime so you don't have enough water close enough to the pump to get it primed.
