The radio has been wired incorrectly so no 12v battery power is applied to retain memory when the isolator switch is turned off.

Loses channels when power turned off

Main system control memory IC fault. Replace it. contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
After the IC replacement, a memory initilization might be done.

Voltage Drop

Radio should have 2 power leads, one should be switched, (hooked to key switch) and one should be hooked direct to battery so you don't lose memory when you shut the car off. Someone hooked them both to the key switch.

My Technika TV model X22/14C-GW-TCD-UK loses all of its channels when I turn it off. I have to retune everytime I turn the TV back on, Any Ideas welcome, many thanks

All sets use a eprom in some form or another that stores the memory of what up/down channels are programmed into the memory of the set-I will presume no box is used in line with this set for signal---very rare for this problem to even happen---next try when turn on to direct enter a known channel and see if set goes there--then manually add it in the menu---if set does not lose that memory at worst you can manually add every channel one at a time.

Memory card corrupted

Try reformatting it by inserting into a card reader connected to PC. If it is indeed only a bad sector in the card then you will lose data but still salvage your card. Otherwise you will lose both card and data. Also, if you are using a linux OS then there are data retrieval methods available from corrupt cards as well. Kindly clarify OS.

My TI89 wont turn on. My back up batery is no good and not in is this a problem?

Hi,
The calculator must have a backup battery in. It will supply energy to the memory module when calculator is turned off. You may lose the content of the memory.
I do not want to sound dramatic, but you may lose the OS and you would have to reinstall it. Put fresh batteries and see if your calculator is still operable.

Hope it helps.

This is for the c713 kodak easy share, couldn't find it on the index.

YOU DIDN'T SAY, BUT I WOULD GUESS THAT WHEN YOU TURNED THE CAMERA BACK ON THE BATTERY WAS DEAD? THIS IS ONE POSSIBLE REASON TO LOSE MEMORY, EVEN THOUGH THE MEMORY CARD SHOULD HOLD YOUR DATA. YOU MIGHT POSSIBLY HAVE A FAULTY MEMORY CARD ALSO. ALSO REMOVING THE MEMORY CARD AND REINSERTING IT CAN SOMETIME CAUSE IT TO LOSE MEMORY. ALL POSSIBLES, BUT TRY USING JUST THE INTERNAL MEMORY OF THE CAMERA, WHICH IS SMALL, BUT SEE IF THE SAME THING HAPPENS DOING THIS. IF NOT, I WOULD SUSPECT THE MEMORY CARD IF IT HAPPENS MORE THAT ONCE. THEY DO FAIL ONCE IN AWHILE. THE KODAK HAS A SETTING THAT LETS YOU SELECT INTERNAL MEMORY OR SD CARD. TRY THAT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. IT'S BEST TO JUST GET IN THE HABIT OF DOWNLOADING PHOTO'S WHEN YOU GET BACK TO YOUR COMPUTER AND NOT TAKING A CHANCE AT LOSING SHOTS. I CARRY MY LAPTOP WHEN I'M AWAY FROM THE HOUSE FOR ANY TIME JUST FOR THAT PURPOSE.
