Dirty moisture sensing strips? Have you tried cleaning them with windex?Whirlpool duet dryer model # GEW9200LW1, when - e03f8f0.jpg

Number 34 these measure resistance by picking up wetness from the clothes. Dryer sheets can coat these with a non penatrable film which fools the brain into thinking them clothes is dry so it moves towards the cooldown mode and shuts off with wet clothes. Clean them sensor strips real good and party on!

If that don't do it yank out the moisture sensing board (next to timer) and clean the corrosion, re-install the board and retry.

    Hi,

Ok, lets first check your thermal fuse.

You would need to take off the lower front access panel under your door, then take off the duct assembly#45, by removing the two #11 screws as shown in your parts diagram here: Bulkhead parts for Whirlpool GEW9250PW1

Unplug or turn the breaker off to your dryer first before opening it up and ohm testing.

Then you will need a multimeter to ohm your thermal fuse. Its #59 in that parts diagram, take both wires off the thermal fuse first.

Here's the thermal fuse for your model you can order here if needed:
    Thermal Fuse WP3392519

This video shows how to test it:

Let us know what you find.

If the thermal fuse tests good, We've had a few members report door switch problems.

You can check it for continuity with a multimeter to make sure.

Here's that door switch you can order:
    Door Switch WP8283288

It shows on Page 4-6 in your repair manual I posted a link to below how to access it to check/change it. Make sure your dryer is unplugged!

Push the button in on the door switch with one meter probe on COM and the other meter probe on NO and see if it reads. Normal ohms is 0-1.

If the thermal fuse and door switch check fine, then its the control board.

Here's the control board for your model you can order here:
    Main Control Board WP8546219

I'm attaching the repair manual pdf for the Whirlpool Duet dryer below.

It shows how to get access to the control board on page 4-2 through 4-4.

Unplug or turn the breaker off to your dryer first.

below is a link to the manual

My whirlpoolduet dryer is on control lock how do I unlock it model # gew9200lw1

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

This is a common issue with Whirlpool Duet however, your whirlpool duet needs a reset to resolve the control lock problem. Press and hold the END OF CYCLE/CYCLE SIGNAL button for 15 seconds to reset the control. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Dryer will not start when pushing start button it just clicks once

This sounds like a problem with the thermal fuse blown which is wired in series with the motor. Power to the motor is terminated when the thermal fuse blows and the motor cannot run. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run. Click on the link below for the detailed instructions in troubleshooting this kind of Whirlpool Duet or Kenmore Elite dryer problem.

so you started first by checking the dryer door switch correct? then if you had a multimeter you would check that power does come in from the wall and goto the board then leaves the board and goes to the motor as well and also goes to the timer as well Do you have any error codes at all?if the dryer door switch is bad this could be why your motor is not starting please message me back with your reply Thanks again Rick

Replace heating element for Duet Dryer GEW9200LW1

First disconnect the power to the dryer by unplugging it from the wall. Then remove the 3 screws on the lower panel of the dryer. This should expose the heating element in a metal housing on the right side of the dryer. Disconnect the 2 wires going to the heating element and slide it out of the housing. The heating element part number is 3387747.

Whirlpool duet dryer model # GEW9200LW1 suddenly quit working. We think it is the fuses, where do we find them and how do we check to see if they are good?

you will need an OHM meter to check continuity. or you can jump the wires but you must replace a bad one for its a huge safety hazzard. (you can slide the 2 terminals together if you have them upsidedown from each other.

the thermal fuse is located right on top of the blower housing.
to get to it remove the lower pannel 3 1/4 inch screews you will see 2 wires going into a white plastic almost football looking peice ontop of the blower housing. it is also held in with 2 1/4 inch screews. thats the termal fuse if nothing turns on or work thats the most common problem. if you jump it and the dryer works then replace the t-fuse Part # 3392519 $20.95
