Question about Nespresso Essenza C100 Espresso Machine/Coffee Maker

1 Answer

The machine overheats the water. It started suddenly one morning. Coffee comes out burned now, and if I run water through the machine, it comes out boiling. I can feel the heating element even through the machine.

The heating element is likely sticking or has gotten wet and corroded,i would try cleaning the element if dirty looking or pushing it closed with finger tip to see if it springs back in place.if this doesnt work i would not try to use could start fire easily if on too long

    Thanks for the tip!
My only problem is that I can't even get the machine open - there are no screws, only bolts which so far I have been wary to pry open.
How do I get to the heating element?

screws may be hidden under foot pads-If they are rubber they should pop out,if they are plastic you may be able to pry them off with small flat head screwdriver, wouldnt force it if not really sure

Hot water will not come down thru coffee

Your pour over coffee brewer has a reservoir that holds more than a pot of water. First thing you need to do is turn off the machine. Then put the empty coffee pot on the burner. Then take another container and fill it with fresh cold water and pour it slowly into the coffee maker until it starts to come out into the coffee pot. Stop pouring in water.

Now turn the machine on and let it heat up. Now you can brew normally. The reservoir has to be filled before you turn it on or you will end up eventually burning up the heating element.

Gaggia Classic (3 months old). Suddenly there is steam only, no water flow.

If there is no water from the head then remove the screw and screen, then press brew button, if water flows clean shower, using a pair of plies hold screen over open flame, coffee will burn out of the small holes. If no water after trying above then remove the 2 allen wrench screws and carefully remove the diffuser and seat with spring, now try running the head, if water flows reassemble and you are back in busines, if no water descale machine.

Machine will not brew all of a sudden was working fine for months, what happened?

you probably need to descale it. Run white vinegar thru it for three cycles, then leave the last cycle in overnight with machine on. In the morning run three cyclkes of plain water thru it and it should work again

We have an FTX41 12 cup mr coffee maker. Suddenly all the water we pour in comes out the bottom all over the counter. What do we do?

Ours (FTX41) did this, made a pot of coffee in the morning just fine then a few hours later we went to make another and the water just poured out the bottom. I took out the 6 screws (4 philips and 2 torx under the rubber feet). When I took off the bottom one of the hoses to the heating element had come off. I put it back on and everything worked fine. It took about 15 min. to fix and put back together. Poor design on the hose connection, no clamps of any kind.

Water not coming through nozzle of nespresso essenza

I have had this issue. I have removed round silver plastic piece from around coffee spout,(gently -do not crack it) I then removed and washed the black spout, I even used a toothpick once, to remove the stubborn coffee ground, Once it was cleaned - it worked perfect. If you run water from the faucet into spout it should flow smoothly. I warn you though, not sure what this does to any warranty, but don't mess with my morning coffee! I hope this helps.

Burn plastic smell

This sounds like - as you say - something has overheated and melted a feed tube or a seal - or worse - part of the casing.

You really need to take it apart to find the problem - which luckily for you will be easy to spot. Once UNPLUGGED - apart and you can't see a problem - top up with water again.

After you've found the problem - Contact the manufacturer directly. If it could have caused a fire - GIVE THEM H£LL !

With any luck - you should be able to negotiate - a replacement part - or a replacement unit - or a full refund.

I do not like any equipment that overheats in use. Water leakage internally could have led to ELECTROCUTION / FIRE.

Be polite and concise on the 'phone. State what you want from them - and don't get fobbed off.

You will likely have to return the unit - so use recorded delivery for this - or they may "lose" it.

Best of luck with that.

(If you feel this is sound advice - please rate as "Fixya" as it is my time I give you for free. Thank you. )
