Would a 19v 3.16a power supply suits a lcd monitor 19v 2.6?

Yep, that should do very well. The voltage (19V) is critical - that should match exactly. The current (3.16A, 2.6A) isn't so critical, but the power supply MUST supply AT LEAST as much current as the monitor requires. The extra current capacity won't hurt anything at all, it just won't get used for anything.

F-20 has sound but no picture, on VGA, or TV cables. Power looks ok. where can i find more info on testing for the problem and fixing. Thanks

Sound but no picture usually implies a faulty backlight. It may be simple case of replacing one or more electrolytic capacitors in the power supply or on the backlight inverter board. It may be that one or more inverter transformers has gone open circuit or short circuit, causing the inverter board to shut down. If this is the case then you can replace the inverter board with a universal inverter board but you will need to figure out the wiring. In most cases there are only three wires required - 12V, 0V and switching wire.

Help! My acer ferrari 20 inch monitor has worked perfectly for the year and a half I have owned it. Yesterday the screen just went blank.. no warning. I have checked all the cables and even plugged an old...

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Is ACER al2016W monitor dual-voltage?

Voltage Required AC 120/230 V

Yes Bob, you can use it in UK 240V and I believe no adjustments required since they are swithed mode power supplies.

Just to make sure have look at the data label at the back of the monitor it should say AC 120/230V. UK 240 is OK since there is a +/- 10% variation allowed on that.

I got the information out of the specifications on line, so you should be OK.

We lost power last night for 4 hours due to a storm and when it came back on the monitor did not come back on. I plugged it into my work computer and nothing, no grenn power light, nothing? I bought this...

Power supply or fuse is shot most likely. You can use a voltmeter and test power coming from power supply to main board. Some units use a high voltage transformer instead of a power supply. You can get parts at tigerdirect.com
