how to:
note "The instructions below tells you how to disassemble your phone 100% you wont need all the steps"

  • 1 Remove the battery door. The battery door can be lifted easily using your fingers, or a flathead screwdriver. Pop open the battery door by applying pressure directly under the hinge of the door and pushing upward. The battery door will come off easily.
  • 2 Pull out the SIM card. The SIM card will be located on the right hand side of the phone under a small silver metal holder. Pull the SIM card upwards with our fingers to remove it. Set it aside in a safe place.
  • 3 Unscrew the base. Remove the two T6 screws that are located on either side of the SIM card. Use the T6 screwdriver to remove these and set them aside in a safe place.
  • 4 Remove the base of the Razr. Use the SIM card to gently pull apart the base of the Razr so that it pops open. You may need to pull the phone's top and bottom pieces a little more with your fingers to separate it completely.
  • 5 Remove the keypad. The keypad is held securely in place by six metal tabs surrounding the base. Pry these tabs back using the flathead screwdriver. When all six tabs are pointing upward, slowly lift the keypad off the phone.
  • 6 Remove the screen cover. Remove the four rubber "dots" around the screen using the flathead screwdriver, then unscrew the screws underneath. The screen cover will snap off easily with your fingers or by sliding the SIM card underneath and pulling the screen upward.
  • 7 Remove the connectors. The connector connects the keypad to the motherboard of the phone. Unscrew the screw with the T5 screwdriver and push the connector out of the hinge. Do the same to the other side.
  • 8 Remove the LCD module. Use the flathead screwdriver to pop the LCD module out of the phone. Use light pressure to pull these up and out, and set aside in a safe place.

If you cannot work out how to pull it apart by looking at it, you are probably better to take it to a Dewalt repair centre and have then do the repair. They make good equipment so it is worth spending the money to have a professional do the repair.

I have a pair of Goodmans Magnum SL speakers. Crossover capacitors.

The capacitors in my Magnums are 3.3uF and 8uF and don't need replacing as they are the foil type (which essentially last forever) rather than non-polar electrolytics (which fail after about 10 years).

They are square the factory ones but need to know if they can be replaced with round speakers? If so, how and what do i need to do so?

If you are looking for replacement speakers, try www.crutchfield.com Even if you don't purchase from there, it is a great resource for information. They have an extensive library of vehicles and can recommend replacements. Hope this helps.

You (we) still don't know if the speaker or electronics are at fault. Swap the speakers left-to-right. Use test tones to test all channels. Could be a loose speaker wire, too.

Bose free space 51 speaker pair. 1 speaker stopped working. I disconnected non working speaker and hooked up at the working speaker wire and it still didn't work. don't know how to take it apart to...

In my case the speaker only played the higher frequencies but not the low mid range to base. Most likely your speaker is "blown". Outdoor use is hard on electrical components. The fix is easy. The free space 51 speaker is identical in size to the standard Bose 901 4 1/2" speaker. You can buy a Bose or a good quality knock off (either way they will need to be broken in before yielding the best sound). It is not clear to me whether the original Bose uses a special moisture resistant cone. I treated my replacement with a light coating of silicone spray (for upholstery) carefully protecting the foam surround and cap at the center.

Just unscrew the three screws holding in the plastic grill in front of the speaker (using a nut driver or socket wrench). The speaker will drop out. Be careful with the foam wrap around the wire as it tends to be fragile and greasy. Solder in the new speaker making sure you get the polarity right (although for outside use this is probably irrelevant). I would test the speaker in place before soldering just to make sure. Reassemble and break in the speaker. Again I don\'t know know well the replacement will weather the elements. Keep your finger crossed.

Same problem with mine. I took it apart and noticed that the try doesn't aligned correctly with the reader after spinning. However, I don't know how to fix it. I am looking for a replacement unit that will work with the speaker system. Any ideas?
