For the water not working, check the water supply tube and use a blow dryer to thaw out the frozen line so that water will flow again. If the line is free and not frozen then you will need to replace the water inlet valve. As for the ice not dispensing, check the auger motor. Just thawing it out will not permanently solve the problem, it may also need to be replaced and have a " boot " installed over it. Click on the link below to view the parts you may need:

Open the door and hold the door switch down and try the ice dispenser. Do you hear any thing. You should hear the ice door open and the augur motor turning to turn the augur which pushes the ice out the door. If the augur doesn't turn Take all the ice out of the bin and try. perhaps the motor is too weak or the augur is locked up. Take the bin out and try to see if the motor will turn with no load. The motor is behind the back cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter when you try the dispenser. If you are, probably bad motor. If not ,dispenser switch or solenoid is not working.

There is a solenoid that operates the door that could have stopped working. Can you hear it?
The hinge on the door could be broken or the bracket it goes in could be broken. You'll have to look to see what's wrong.

Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.
You have two points where you can check the dispenser water. At the rear where the water supply comes in is the water inlet valve. If you disconnect the dispenser water line and then see if the water comes out when you try the dispenser. You should hear the valve work when you try the dispenser. If you don't hear it there is a dispenser actuator switch problem. If you do hear it but water doesn't work here there is a valve or water supply problem. If it's normal, disconnect it at the bottom of the freezer door and try again. If it's normal here it may be frozen in the door. If this is the case open the door till it thaws. A blanket over the opening will prevent thawing of all the food.

It sounds like it's our dispenser selector switch.

Part 72 is the switch. If you don't hear any noise when you push the switch that should be the bad part.

You remove the cover of the dispenser and remove parts till you get to the switch. It should be a plug in part.

Hello,

Sometimes, even though ice is formed perfectly fine in your ice maker, it does not eject out the trays. To solve this problem, you need to check the ejector gear and motor for any fault, and replace them if necessary. Also test the thermostat and ice hold heater in your refrigerator as the problem could be because of these parts malfunctioning.

Take care.

Investigate these causes if the water dispenser does not work: the water supply line is turned off or is not connected; the water filter is clogged; air is trapped in the water system (press the dispenser arm for 2 minutes); or the dispenser is locked.

Insert a drinking glass into the water dispenser. If you can you hear the pump running when you press the paddle with the glass, the electrical and mechanical parts are working. This means that the problem is most likely due to a blockage. Use a flashlight for poorly lit areas in the back of the refrigerator.

Check the water filter. It is usually in the back of the refrigerator and typically will have a plastic cap labeled "water filter." You may need a flashlight to find it. Unscrew the cap and pull the water filter out. If the filter is dirty, you need to replace it. A dirty filter can cause a gradual drop in water output.

Open the door and examine the area behind the water dispenser. If the water lines in the door have frozen, water won't flow. Turn on the hair dryer to a medium or high setting. Apply warm air around the front and back of the dispenser. Continue alternating between the front and back of the door for several minutes. Check the dispenser to see if it starts working again. If not, the blockage may be deeper in the system.

Empty the refrigerator and freezer. Store your perishable items in coolers. Unplug the refrigerator, open the doors and allow the refrigerator to sit for 24 hours. Plug it back in and try the dispenser again. If the problem was a frozen line, allowing the appliance to thaw should have corrected it.

See if your refrigerator is still under warranty. Call General Electric Answer Center at 800-626-2005. If the above steps did not correct the problem, you will need a professional repairman. The GE answer center can direct you to an approved repairman and will be able to determine whether your refrigerator is still under warranty.

Hope helps.

My GE Adora Refrigerator is making ice but not dispensing it. What could be the problem?

The switch for the screwfeeder is probably not any good. With ice or not, the screwfeeder should turn when you push the handle in to dispense ice. If there is any ice in the hopper, it will get drawn in by the screwfeeder and sent out the dispenser door in to your waiting container.

Most of the time it is the half of the dual water control valve on rear of refrigerator. The part number Click Here=> WR57X10032 Usually the coil on that side will go bad before buttons or controls. You can test that side by setting a test meter on AC voltage and you should read 120 volts while someone presses dispense water on front. There are two sides one plugs into icemaker side and other water dispenser. When replaced they both come as a kit. GE PSS26GRE SS not dispensing ice

Hi,
The first step you need to do is to turn the water off to the refrigerator so it quits making until you get it fixed.
If your fridge has the control boards in each side of the freezer cabinet that controls the icemaker, then you have a failed board. If you have a standard icemaker with the metal shutoff arm then you have a failed motor module in the icemaker. You can remove the icemaker and unplug the wiring connector from it so you can leave the water on to the dispenser.

Icemaker makes ice; door dispenser cranks, but no ice dispensed

sounds like either the dispenser motor is bad or the dispenser yoke is stripped. remove the bucket from the freezer. you will see a u shaped yoke in the rear of the disp area. this should be fairly hard to turn by hand if it turns easily then the motor gears are bad if the yoke slips on the motor shaft then you have a stripped yoke. hope that helps. peyton...
