We need to convert everything to a common unit, so let's convert the 18 inches into 1.5 feet.

Volume is length times width times height.

v= 132 x 2 x 1.5

v= 396 cubic feet

To convert to cubic yards, imagine a yard cube. It is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet for a total of 27 cubic feet.

v1 = 396 cubic feet/27 cubic feet per yard

v1 = 14 2/3 cubic yards

So 15 cubic yards should do it.

Good luck.

You can't convert cubic feet, a unit of volume, to square feet, a unit of surface

A cubic foot is a unit of volume. A yard is a unit of length.

There are three feet in a yard, so there are three-cubed or 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard.

It isn't. 9.4 feet by 3.5 feet is an area. Cubic feet is a unit of volume.

If you have a pond that's 9.4 feet by 3.5 feet, how much water is in it? Well, that would depend on how deep the pond is, wouldn't it?

9.4 feet by 3.5 feet by one inch is about 2.74 cubic feet.

9.4 feet by 3.5 feet by one foot is 32.9 cubic feet.

9.4 feet by 3.5 feet by two feet is 65.8 cubic feet.

What are the numbers?

If they're all feet, then the volume is 18 feet times 23 feet times 16 feet or 6624 cubic feet. If they're all inches then the volume is 3.83 cubic feet. If they're in some other unit(s) then the answer will be something else.

What unit are the numbers in?

40 feet by 45 feet by 5 feet is 9000 cubic feet.

If the numbers are in inches then the volume is about 5.2 cubic feet.

If the numbers are in meters then the volume is about 317,832 cubic feet.

If you want to calculate the volume of an object and have the answer in cubic feet.

Volume=Length X Width X Height

With the dimensions you give

Volume=12.5in X 37in X 20in

Volume=9250 cubic inches

To convert 9250 cubic inches into cubic feet you need to understand that there are 1728 cubic inches in 1 cubic foot.

L X W X H = 12"X12"X12"=1728 cu in

You then multiply 9250cu in and (1/1728cu ft) Really you are dividing 9250 by 1728.

your answer is 5.35 cubic feet.

12 inches in 1 foot

144 square inches in 1 square foot

1728 cubic inches in 1 cubic foot

to convert you put the unit you want to keep on top of the dividend.

to conver to to feet ( randomly selecting 100 inches)

Example converting 100 inches to feet

100inches X ____1ft____ = (100/12) = 8.3 feet

12inches

or cubic inches to cubic feet

4000 cubic inches to cubic feet

4000cu in X ____1cu ft____ = ( 2.33 cu ft)

1728 cu in

if you notice that the units on top and bottom of the dividend cancel each other out leaving the numerator (top number) as your unit.

it also works in reverse

2.33 cu ft X ___1728 cu in____ = (4000 cu in)

1cu ft
