Hello Cheryl, There are a couple of possibilities. When the dishwasher drains the dirty water it is a time based function. This leads me to believe it is a blockage or partial blockage in the drain hose. Here is an example. (If your dishwasher drains into your garbage disposal) washing dishes you put scraps into the disposal and forget to turn it on after you are done. The disposal is filled with scraps this restricts the flow of dirty waterfrom the dishwasher. If the flow is restricted less water is being drained per second from the dishwasher. This is why the dishes still looked clean and there was still water in the bottom of the dishwasher. (if your dishwasher drains into a drain pipe) there is blockage or partial blockagein the dishwasher drain hose. if the sink drains slowly the blockage is in the main line Hope this helps Joe Connolly
The water level detection is done via a small plastic pipe from the bottom of the machine that fills with water and causes the air pressure in the pipe to activate a micro switch in the water level detecter. The pipe can be disconnected at the bottom and gently blow into the pipe. If you listern carefully you can hear the micro switch click. The pipe must not be blocked and in some cases the switch contacts could be burnt. The water level is factory set but can be adjusted on the water sensor. Replace if necessary.
sounds like wash motor is not going . it will fill and control thinks motor is working . then it will drain wash water / ( drain pump is a different motor ) and then refill and so on .. never washes but fills and drains and heats. ( look for leakage under the motor i'm sure you will find some ..
Check your "air gap". This is the device that sticks above the countertop and prevents any water backup from getting into your dishwasher. The problem may well be a partially clogged air gap.
Remove the decorative cover and there should be a plastic dome that can be removed. Firmly grip the plastic dome and move from side to side while pulling up. Once you get the dome off you will be able to see if it is clogged. This can be done without removing the drain hose from the bottom of the air gap. This solved my problem which was the dishwasher not completely pumping all the water out. After cleaning the air gap it drains properly.
Air gap is clean Garbage disposal is clean Dishwasher fills with water OK Drain pump runs after a wait of several minutes and seems to run slow but drains most of the water out of the reservoir. Dishwasher is not running the wash cycle (spraying water on dishes)
leaking valve - to check, turn water off and see if it still happens
if appliance is plumbed in to a spigot on the sink trap, then when you empty sink, some of the water finds its way into the dishwasher via the drain hose. to cure, take the drain hose as high as possible under the sink in a swan neck
Hi. The above machine stops mid cycle and drain/fill light is on, also
error code F3E, have cleaned both hot and cold water inlet filters, also
checked drain pump and drain line, all ok. Machine drains with no
issues and fills with hot water, runs for a while then shuts down.
i would check for apossible drain issue, perhaps siphoning water out after 2nd fill. make sure you have prper high loop insatlled in drain hose, could also be a bad water fill valve, solenoid overheating and not opening properly after 3 fills
