Did you use Original Epson Cartridge?
I have learned from experience, that Epson does not like generic ink. You must use Epson Genuine Cartridges. Hopefully, you haven't screwed up the printer, like I did. I did try cleaning the heads and doing everything possible. Use 2 cartridges of ech set, for cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. ......But Nothing. Had to go out and purchase a new printer.; Good Luck :0(
Nov 12, 2009- Funny. hahahahah, Me too! I would say, about 2 dozen cartridges to be exact.
lol :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) :0)
" Thank you. Called Epson also and they didn't say it as directly, but advised real Epson ink too. Hope I didn't kill the printer! Generic ink for sale " - mclamemo
Try connecting the printer to a different computer, e.g., to a laptop.
Install the Epson printer-software from the Epson-supplied CD-ROM to that computer, and try the utilities.
If you still get an error, it's probably the electronics in the printer that have gone "crazy".
Sorry but It uses Durabrite ink which tends to turn into hard gel if not printed
at least once a week. Its less painful and expensive to just
throw the printer out and buy a new one. I recommend the canon PIXMA
ip3500. It lets you remove the printhead for cleaning unlike the Epson.
If you want to try your luck at unclogging the printer heres a link to
a unclogging kit but be warned that results are not guaranteed!
The durabrite inks that EPSON invented is brilliant when you print pictures but it tends to harden very easily
If any of the ink cartridges are needing to be replaced, the Epson C84 will not print, you will have to change the cartridge, if you lift up the printer lid the carrier will stop at the empty ink colour.
