How to connects yhe psp to the internet

  • 1

On the lower left-hand side of your PSP, you will notice a little silver slider. Slide the switch up and this will turn on the WiFi feature on the PSP. Of course, you do need a home WiFi setup for this to work. Your battery also needs to be full. Even if your battery is low and your unit is plugged in to an outlet, the firmware upgrade may not work.

  • 2

With a fully charged device, go to your PSP's home screen and choose "Network Update."

  • 3

This screen will ask you for your WLAN settings. Choose "Scan" and let the PSP detect the network automatically. Choose the right one and keep all of your settings in the default stage. Press the "X" button and the PSP will save the configuration as your new access profile.

  • 4

Choose it again and when your PSP connects to the network, and if there is an update available, you will automaically see the following message: "Network Update has found a later version. To download, insert a Memory Stick with at least 14MB of free space and press the X button."

  • 5

Press the "X" button and you should see the message: "Downloading." IMPORTANT - Do not turn off your PSP or remove the memory card during this time!

  • 6

When the download is finished, you will see the following message: "Download completed. The update is now available on your Memory Stick. To install now, press the x button. To install later, go to [Game]." Press the "X" button to install the new firmware. You may see a few other screens detailing new features to be included in the upgrade, but eventually you will see "Installing."

  • 7

During the installation, again, do not turn it off or remove the memory card. Once installation is finished, the PSP will tell you to press "X" to restart the PSP. When it powers back up, the new firmware will be in place

How can i upgrade my psp for free?

You will need to get a wireless connection that has no WEP code or know the code of a router of your own. If youve turned on the Wlan switch at the top it should pick up signal that can connect you to the internet. Here is guide.

When my psp have update the new software to half way I turn off the power and after that and it can't turn on. anyone can help . . . . thanks

**** your psp is brick the only way for fixing it is to buy a pandora battery and buy a magic memory stick you can buy both things at http://www.pandorasales.com/ and when you receive both things just take your memory stick out and battery and then put your new magic memory stick and hold down R trigger and put the pandora battery while holding down R.Your psp will turn on by itself and there you have some options install custom firmware(thats for downloading free psp games) and istall oficial firmware(thats the firmware 3.00,5.50,etc.)you have to chose one option and when your done installing your psp is now fix.I bricked my psp a while ago but the pandora battery and magic memory stick fixed my psp.Hope this will help you like me and go to this link to show you how a bricked psp looks like and how to fix it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4sU9U8liik&feature=fvsr .

I can fix it, When the system is shut down in the middle of an update the firmware or operating software is being replaced. If it is interupted it's kind of like your computer if it didn't have MS windows. What has to be done is that the firmware has to be replaced on it. You can do this by "hacking it which installs new firmware.

Son interrupted a firm ware update now PSP won't turn on

my investigations suggest that your son has "bricked" the PSP. Basically the memory that stores the firmware is corrupt and apparently only a main board replacement will fix the issue.

A google search found THIS. I have no affiliation with them and have never used them though.. might be worth a call at least??
