How can I change de password of my router?? which

Standard default password is usually admin/admin or password/password. Since most hackers know this they ask people to change the standard password.

Connect Wired cable to the linksys Router via PC/Laptop

Go to browser and point to IP address 192.168.1.1 (Can be different if manually changed)

Default username : admin password: admin

Go to Wireless TAB -> Security

Select Security type as WPA2 or WPA (WPA2 preferred)

Select passphrase as YOUR KEY

Make sure to click Apply afterwards.

You have now a password on your SSID.

If you really want to change the password for your network connection, kindly do the following.
1. Directly connect your PC to the Router using an Ethernet Cable 2. On you browser address bar type in 192.168.1.254 to access the router user interface. 3. It will be asking for a username & password, if you have not set one by default it should be admin for both username & password. 4. Click on customized configuration. 5. Click on Basic Settings then wireless, it should give you the option to change your wireless password for your network.

This can be done from Tools section of the Dlink Wizard Software. To change the password follow these directions:
Select the username in the first line
Enter the old password in the second line
Enter the new password in the third line.
when you are finished click apply.

Note: Do not change the Admin Username by changing this name will restrict you access to all the features of your router.

hello , please follow these steps --> After the reset , the router will restart and the factory settings are reloaded & the computer will lose connection with the router for around 30 seconds. After this the router can be accessed through its default IP Address. (192.168.50.1).
Method-1 :- To reset the router , press the reset switch , press and hold the button or reset switch while you switchon the router again. After switching on the router press and hold the button another 10 seconds , then the router will restart.
Method-2 :- Left in the column, click "System Tools" and then "Factory Settings". click "Restore" to start the reset. A message appears , click "OK" to continue.

Supongo que tienes un router WIFI, y que no hay encriptación en él. Obviamente necesitaríamos saber que modelo de router tienes y que tipo de direccionamiento IP estas usando para tu red local.
A grandes rasgos, tienes que conectarte con tu router (a menudo vas a poder entrar poniendo http://192.168.1.1 en un navegador). Quizas te pida un nombre de usuario y password para conectar. Si es asi, tendras que saber cual es. De fabrica una combinaciones validas serian:
usuario: admin password: admin (o dejar el password vacio)
usuario: root password: admin (o dejar el password vacio)
usuario: root password: root
usuario: 1234 password: 1234
usuario: 12345 password: 12345
Una vez dentro del router, tendras que buscar donde se define la encryptacion del enlace WIFI, escoger un tipo de encryptacion (por ejemplo WEP), y poner una clave.
Si has conseguido llegar hasta aqui y te estabas conectando por WIFI, en este momento se te desconectará la conexion. Ahora tienes que decirle a tu PC que utilice encriptacion para conectarse.
Tambien seria aconsejable cambiar la clave del usuario de administracion (el que has usado para entrar en el router).

So you are saying you cannot login to the router itself due to a changed password. The default login is admin and password (or 1234).

If none of these work then you will have to reset the router back to the factory defaults. There is a reset button on the back of the router. Find a paper clip and press the button for approx 10 seconds or until the test light on the front starts blinking. If all goes well the default login should now work. Remember, anything set before as far as static IP's, Ports, Security will be cleared out.

Si te olvidaste la clave del router, proba usando la original de fabrica del router:

D-Link
usa esta direccion de acceso http://192.168.0.1
- user=admin

password= (sin password, en blanco, solo pulsa enter)

(generalmente son (admin, password) y mira que pasa (si es que no la cambiaste)

Al resetear el router volvera a su configuracion inicial y perderas la informacion que tenia configurada. Antes de resetear podes tirar un ip config saber tus ip adresses.

Ahoras si te olvidaste la clave de acceso a tu network, podes obtenerla con cualquier aplicacion de password recovery.

did you ever changed the default login? If not just google for router passwords and your model should appear. If you changed it and forget, you should reset the device.
