The drive was not recognized by the computer.

  • pkcmetal Jun 01, 2008

Still does not recognize, and only 2 of 60+ pics were transferred--the same 2 transferred last time.

  • pkcmetal Jun 18, 2008

Thanks--I will try a new disc.

  • pkcmetal Jun 22, 2008

Thank you very much--the disc was the problem. Thanks for your help!

To get all the pictures copyed manually..

open my computer and when the camera is pluged in you will see a removeable storage device like this for example
The last several times I - 2e2aa7b.jpg
Double click the drive and find the images from the folders and copy them all manually to your desktop or into another new folder on desktop for example.

leave your my computer folder open, unplug the camera, then press f5 on my computer window so it refreshes, then plug the camera back in, and press f5 again ones it has been installed.

See what appears in the my computer?

Tell me what do you see in my computer as the camera?

  • Ekse Jun 09, 2008

do you still require help with this issue? There may be a problem with the storage card where your pictures are.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo management program.

Transfering pictures = Impossible. Help?

Please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

Downloading to computer

Go out to hp.com and click on support then updates and find your camera and download the latest updated software. I have several hp devices including one camera, and have had to download updates for all of them, The discs which come with equipment are made up before the release of the equipment, needless to say by the time you get it, the disc has long been updated.

Trouble transferring pictures from camera to computer

First, Try and install the HP software again. Uninstall the software first and reboot the pc. Then reinstall software. The memory chip maybe have currupt pictures, so format the chip using the camera. You manual should tell you how to do this. Second, Turn the camera on and let the battery run all the way down. This may take some time, maybe a day. Then charge it back up for a day. I hope this helps you out. Let me know.
