Hello,

While the remote does not work with the TV, does the volume and other buttons on the TV works?

If the buttons on the TV works, then it means the problem is either from the remote control or the TV sensor/infrared.

Borrow a remote from a friend that uses the same TV as yours, use it to test the TV and if it responds, then you will have to get another remote.

If it doesn't work, then it means the sensor/infrared on your TV is the one that is failing.

Lastly, check your remote control, make sure the battery terminal is not rust, if its rust, use a flat screw driver to scratch it. You can further disassemble the remote control, check the panel in the remote and make sure there is no loosed wire or connection.

A thorough troubleshooting will direct you the problem.

Good luck.

Volume intermittently increases all the way to 100 and cannot be controlled by the remote

This happens with some models. You can open the TV from the back and disconnect the connector for the side control board. You will only have control via the remote but your volume issue should be resolved.

Dish Network 721 dvr remote sound volume problems with Samsung TV

Hello, it sounds like you may need a replacement remote. Normally if the volume button was not working at all you would probably just need to readdress the remote to the TV but in this case the remote does work sometimes. Try changing the batteries if you have not already done so. If you have changed the batteries and are still experiencing this issue you will need a replacement remote. I would be happy to look into getting a remote sent out to you. Please email me directly at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com with either your name and phone # on the account or the account #. Thank you.

Make sure the mode switch is set correctly for the device (TV, Cable, Video recorder, etc) that you are trying to control.

The television wont change channels, only power and volume work,

also check remote control if it the rubber contacts are clean. sometimes moisture seeps into remoted. and several times semiconductor rubber contacts loose their properties with friction and pressure.Try to remove batteries of the remote for several minutes and press buttons to discharge any current stred into capacitors. Put the batteries back into remote and try it.Otherwise Try another of the same remote or there may other problems with TV IR sensor. or switching circuit.

Why does my 26 insignia do the following without touching the remote: volume up and down, changes channels and menu screen pops up

It could well be your remote control has a problem. Try removing the batteries from the remote control and see if the problem goes away, if it does, try new bateries on the remote controller, if that does not work you may have to get a new remote controller

Remote won't turn tv off or on. Mute, volume also does not work

Take the set apart and see if there is a separate board in front of the set. Remove the board and check for cold solder joints first. If o.k., replace sensor. Then again you could contact toshiba and order another key pad for the set.

Volume controls dont work when using remote

I would start by trying other codes on the universal remote. Sometimes codes will only work part of the remote such as the numbers or channels but not volume. Your motorola cable remote sounds like it may only need a good cleaning. sometimes when you take remotes apart it will look like somthing got spilt in it. I would start there first.
