I plug the stick too charge , but it will not charge

I leave mine on all the time, I will unplug it do want I got to do & plug it back on charge even if it is for 1 min. of use & the is still plenty of juice in it & I haven't noticed any problems or loss of power & it runs for the same length of time. However I don't know whether it is using more electricity buy doing this, or it may only draw the power it needs.

First measure the voltage of the batteries at the charging socket of the joystick.

The separate wire on the right with the eyelets attach permenetly to the battery terminals. It's called a "pig-tail".
Then when you need to charge the battery, the unit plugs into the pig-tail (plug sticking out from behind "box", on it's right).
Then plug unit into wall outlet.

If you are using the lighter plug for charging it may have a fuse inside the plug itself the plugs into the lighter socket,,,,,look for a fuse there or if have a volt meter check for voltage reaching the unit when plugged that way If voltage is good to the unit from the car source the battery may be bad, either not getting a voltage for charging or battery not holding a charge.

check that the contacts are connecting and are clean of debris. Some Pure-Fi's has a problem charging 2nd Gen Touch iPod, even when proper supplied adapter is used. You can try pressing the iPod further into the connector and see if it stays charging. If not, you can tilt the Touch slightly forward to make proper charging contact with Pure-Fi's iPod connector.

If you only charge your 2nd Gen Touch in your Pure-Fi, or other devices less thick than the Touch, like iPod Nanos, then you can stick a spacer on the Pure-Fi behind the Touch to always properly tilt it slightly forward. Only space it slightly forward just enough to cause it to charge so as not to stress the connector.

Stick-on chair/furniture protectors work good for this. If they are too thin, stick one on top the other till you get the thickness you need. Do not use any thicker a spacer than needed so as not to stress the connector any more than needed to make charging contact Use thinner stick-ons, like double sided foam tape, to get the final spacing you need.

The added advantage to a proper spacing between an iPod and Pure-Fi, is it relieves connector stress when plugging in and using an iPod while plugged in, since the taller Touch iPod cannot tilt backward. If you place your spacer at the very top of the Pure-if back panel, then iPods thicker, but shorter, than the height of your space can also be used.

To view the charging/not charging status on the 2nd Gen's screen, turn off the 2nd Gen and the Charging Icon will show when contact is being made.

Your indication that the internal battery on the joystick is charging IS the red light, which in some configurations
may turn to different colors as charging progressses, but if you note no color change, and/or if when you disconnect the joystick from the power, the light either does not stay on or the stick does not operate independantly of the power source, then the internal battery is defective, has exceeded the number of recharges
cycles and/or is fried.

Buy a new set of batteries for all sticks at the same time and play on.

I had the same problem. Here is the fix. Look at where the charging plug goes into the unit. there is a metal band around the inside of the port. You need to get a very small screw driver or something similar that you can stick in between the band on the top of the opening and the unit, so as to push the metal band out a little so that it makes better contact with the charging plug. Dont bend it too much, just a little. Then plug in the charger and all should be back to normal.

Charging the Player
The player needs to be charged before it can be used and every time
the battery gets low. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to charge the
Player. Once fully charged, the Player lasts approximately 8 hours.
To charge the Player:
Remove the USB cover on the Player.
Connect the Player to the PC using the Flash Plug.
The Player will begin charging. The battery indicator should begin
to flash, alternating red and green.
Once the battery is fully charged, the indicator light will stay red.
Note: If this is the first time the Player is connected, wait until
Windows detects the Player and follow the prompts to install it.
