Question about Sony Bravia KDL-46V4100 46 in. LCD HDTV

Open Question

We purchased a sony KDL46VL150 in Feb., 2010. We have Comcast cable with a cable box. We have been experiencing the following problems. No. 1. The sound stops. We change the channel and return and the sound is OK. 2. The sound and picture stop. We turn off the TV and cable box, restart and sound and picture are OK. 3. We change the channel, a static noise occurs, the sound and picture stop. Repeat No. 2 and sound and picture are OK. We have had Comcast out at least 5 times. They have replaced the cable box, the HDMI cable, added amplifiers inside and out, confirmed the signal and replaced the connectors outside. They state they cannot do any more to fix the problems. A Sony certified in house repair tech. just replace the main board in the TV. This has not solved the problems. We are dealing with Sony tech. support now to determine if there are any other TV components that can be changed out.

Try resetting the TV by holding down the "up" button on the remote (with the TV powered on) and then, while you hold down the up button on the remote, hit the power button on the TV. This should do a "factory reset" which will wipe all settings in the TV. There is no reason why the TV should not "remember the last input it was on when it was ;last turned off. Also be sure that the TV is not plugged into a switched AC outlet, like the outlet on the back of the cable bix. The TV should be plugged into an output that receives power at all times.

SOURCE: Sony 52" Bravia LCD will drop picture and sound for 1-2 seconds

the only thing that i can think of is that the cables and connections are bad but if that is not the case it may be the internal components of the tv. my guess is that the tv was dropped or jumbled around while transported and what happened was internal components were broken or just mixed up so go to the retailer and get a refund or a new tv. hope this helps

Bought heater in Jan or Feb 2010 didnt save box purchased from Wal-mart what should I do, do not have enough money to purchase another one heater will not power on now.

These heaters usually have a 1 year warranty. Look for a Honeywell phone # on the heater and call them for help with a replacement heater. Hopefully, you still have your receipt as proof of purchase and date purchased. Wal-Mart won't take it back after this long, so you'll need to deal with the manufacturer. They may send you another one or troubleshoot it on the phone with you to fix the problem. Douglas

After about a year my set developed this problem. I found that updating the firmware to Software Update Filename : ER4.12 Version : ER4.12-E2 Last Modified : 08/23/2010. You can check the firmware version you are running via Menu - Set Up - Product support with your remote. Go to the Sony support site and search for KDL-46VL150 to find the file to download. Unzip it onto a flash drive, turn the set off, put the flash drive in the service USB port on the back and turn the set on. The sony site has detailed directions.

Yes Im sure that should solve most of your problem. If you just recently purchased the set it should still be in warranty. Please take full advantage of your warranty and dont't let anybody work on your set but a tech that has been certified by Sony to work on their in warranty products.

I just purchased a Sony Bravia 52" 1080 HD 120 Hz flat panel and upgraded my comcast service to HD as well. At times, the "last" button will not work to switch to the previous channel or if it does, it...

If this is still problematic ask Comcast to service the problem and request one of the older, larger, silver HD with HDMI capable boxes. The other option is to use the component cable with the new boxes. I had the same problem and luckily a good technician who took his job seriously! I think I overheard him saying too that a DVR is an option as well, but you, if the technician doesn't offer, would have to state an argument for why you should not be charged extra for using one of those. Hope this helps? Nice to get to the root of problems! I'm keeping my fingers crossed because they had to order the older box. None were left in stock?
