Replace the knob. There is a groove that the knob uses to put the valve core in the right position.

Commercial propane fryer wont light

If the pilot won't light, the first thing to try is to replace the thermopile, assuming you have a good flame on the top portion of the thermopile in the first place when you hold the gas valve in when in the pilot position. If this does not solve the problem, which in 90% of the cases it will, the gas valve is defective. I usually replace the thermopile when replacing the gas valve and save the old one for a backup.

I have a vulcan fryer and i can light the pilot then i turned on the flames it came on then went out and would not come back on the pilot stayed lit.

Sounds like thermostat is bad... Vulcan also recommends on replacing the high limit as well.

Can't locate pilot on vulcan lg300

TO LIGHT THE PILOT
1.Open the door. 2. Turn the thermostat OFF The thermostat is located behind the door. 3. Push the gas control valve knob and turn to OFF. Wait 5 minutes for unburned gas to vent. 4. Push and turn gas control valve knob to the "L" in PILOT. 5. While still holding the knob in, light the pilot with a lit flame. Continue to depress the knob until pilot remains lit when knob is released. If the pilot does not remain lit, repeat step 3 through 5. 6. Depress and turn gas control knob to ON

My vulcan fryers pilot keeps blowing off. ther e are 2 pilots and one has the problem. pl help

Hi,
The thermocouple that senses the flame is bad... on most deep fryers they are actually "power pile generators" they produce a bit of current from the flame hitting them and the current operates the gas valve...

Replace it and you will be operating again they do wear out regularly...

Watermark Grille pilot prob

Your question is posted under vulcan fryers but the comment refers to a grill. Either way, I think your problem is gas pressure and/or supply related. You may need a new regulator, you valve may not be open all the way or any quick couplings you may have are not coupled completely or are faulty. What is happening is there is enough pressure to keep the pilot going, but when the larger route for the burner gas is opened the gas is quickly used up without proper resupply. A regulator installed backwards can have this same effect. Hope this helps

VULCAN EF3 PILOT, ON, OFF, KNOB NOT TURNING

That knob is a pilot safty valve it is not your problem. Your problem is the m/v signal generator. This is either a thermocouple or a thermopile depending on the setup of your model. Look for a small copper line coming from the pilot area going to the pilot safty valve that is the tcouple or tpile. Replace this and I am sure you will be good to go.

Hope this helps Ya
