Generic problem for all Vacuums

shop-vac quit working while in operation and will not turn back on. No strange noise or anything beforehand. Filter had apparently fallen off at some point but on proper reassembly, still not working.

I have the same problem.

same problem. went dead and won't turn on. what do you do? take it apart but even if you find the problem can you fix it????

I had the same problem with my Shop Vac. It just quit. Had taken it apart to see, and found power to the motor but not operating. Returned it with the same model. Three months later.....the same thing. I think Shop Vac has a problem with there motor vendor. Not sure what model number but it is a 10 gal 4 HP.

hmmm..sounds like either no power, or a bad switch..

Could have a bad switch, bad cord, or a problem with the motor.
