Trips circuit breaker when not in use or when door is shut

There is a short to ground somewhere inside, in the electrics, possibly the magnetron filament. Take it to a competent service person, and do not mess with it yourself as microwaves have a very high voltage circuit inside which can kill you.

If the breaker is an earth leakage type, it is possibly an earth leak problem which could be caused by insulation breakdown on the heater inside the microwave.

You have a fuse behind the screen panel. You have screws inside the microwave holding the panel. you have 1-2 at the bottom. You may also have to remove the vent. It has 2-3 screws which will be inside the vent. These can be removed from the front. Once these are removed the panel will pop off and you will see the fuse The fuse can be bought at a radio shack. BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE! Good Luck

GE Spacemaker Microwave JVM1441 BH04 tripping circuit breaker

your power transformer for the magnetron could have a shorted primary power winding, the door safety interlock switch could be mis-adjusted,this normally blows the internal unit fuse,a shorted high voltage capacitor,or diode,a bare wire inside the unit, more than the microwave on that circuit or a weak circuit breaker in the house power panel

Ge spacemaker microwave, new, keeps tripping the GFI but keeps running

The first thing you need to check is the GFI--when it trips, it definitely should shut off power to the circuit. It may be wired incorrectly, or is faulty. There should be a 20 amp breaker and wiring to the oven.It is also much better is the oven is the only appliance on this circuit. Hope this helps!

The power cuts off after 2 minutes of cooking. The microwave doesnt turn back on for ten minutes.

There is an automatic circuit breaker that it tripping. One of two options
1) Something in your oven is either malfunctioning (difficult to find and replace). It is likely better to just replace than pay to have it fixed.

2) The house circuit that you are using is not providing enough power to the microwave. Check if something else is connected on the same circuit. A microwave runs poorly when not getting the full 115 volts that it was designed for and may fall into a safe mode and shut down for a while.

Newer houses should have the microwave on a dedicated circuit and should not have this problem - I say should not because electricians can make mistakes too.

You can try to trip your microwave circuit and see if anything else stops working. If so, that is likely why your microwave is falling into a safe mode - it is not getting enough juice.

If you have an older home (pre 1995), try to find what else is on your microwave circuit by tripping the breaker as listed above, then not using the other appliance when using the microwave.
Good luck.
