Question about HP Photosmart 7850 InkJet Printer

I keep getting the message "Cartridge #/56/58 Failed - Replace Cartridge or remove it for reserve mode." even after putting a brand new #58 in. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: replace color cartridge

Access your printer properties and try preforming a print head or printer cartidge clean and on the machine try the print cartridge aligniment procedure.
If after you try both of those I suspect there is an issue with the print head.
If that is the case an ink jet printer is not worth repairing.

Try to replace the ink cartridge with a new name brand ink jet cartridge that matches the manufacturer. Sometimes aftermarket ink jet cartridges don't work as well as the name brand ones.

I have an Okidata c5150n printer which keeps giving the message "M Toner empty" even tho' there's a brand new cartridge installed. The same message shows even when I put a different cartridge and...


On the right side of the machine there is a part which monitors the toners. The toner sensor board 42613601 may be dirty or defective. See #29 in the diagram
It may be something physical, too like something not fitting, etc., but generally I recommend to replace the board.

Hp PSC 950 gives me a message to remove and check black cartridge


Did you remove the tape from the contacts of the new black cartridge? If so once the new one is in, unplug the printer from power and power it back on, it should do a full check after a power on off.

HP A616 photo printer. Cartridge Failed Message keeps popping up


first thing is never mess with the contacts on the ink cartridge carrier. Now that you have touched the contacts they get a film on them and don't work right after that. I had the same thing had to replace the cartridge carrier more than once. Find out how much a new one will be, then if the price more than want you think the printer is worth, you might be cheaper to buy a new printer, but don't indulge in a big expensive one because some of the cheaper ones do just as good as an expensive one and costs less to operate with the same quality. compare the price of ink also if you decide to have to get a new printer.

Color ink cartridge


Backup mode means printing with one cartridge. If the printer tells you "cartridge failed", it probably doesn't recognize it. You can try removing it from the printer and gently wipe the electric contacts on the cartridge with a dry cloth. Turn the printer off, turn it back on and reinsert the cartridge. If the message is still there, I suggest you buy a new color cartridge. You can also go to the store where you refilled your cartridges and ask for their opinion, they may be able to help too.

Magenta cartridge empty


When you take the toner cartridge off the imaging unit, is there magenta toner in the open slot of the IU? Assuming that there is nothing wrong with the toner cartridge, you are possibly looking at a bad engine control board.

if this message is present with both old n new catridge,u better check the top cover not properly seated or there is a lever on the right side which is being pulled up by the top cover ,pls check ,it is being properly pulled up by top cover,after pulling up the top cover properly,put the toner catridge ,see its properly seated (horizontally parellen)n check the printer,
