Saying clear paper jam, I have done, there is no paper jam

Clearing a paper jam in a Lexmark laser printer is an easy thing to do. Laser printers produce high-quality products and are fairly complex machines, but paper jams (in most cases) can be solved mechanically with a little know-how and time. Follow these steps to learn how to clear a paper jam in a Lexmark laser printer.
  1. ep 1 Take the paper out of the paper trays. This will prevent any more paper from being drawn into the printer to further the jam.
  2. Step 2 Remove the cover from the housing of your Lexmark laser printer. This will expose the inner workings of the printer, and you also should be able to see the jammed paper.
  3. Step 3 Pull gently on the jammed paper. In many cases this is all that is required; the paper jam should move out slowly and smoothly.
  4. Step 4 Press the flashing paper jam button. This will allow the rotors to turn freely, which will facilitate the easy removal of the jam.
  5. Step 5 Unplug your Lexmark laser printer if the jam persists. This will allow you to pull more firmly without the gears working against you.
  6. Step 6 Examine the inner workings and confirm that all paper and shreds of paper have been removed. If the paper tore during the clearing, make sure none remains or it will inhibit normal printer function.
  7. Step 7 Plug the printer back in, refill the paper tray and try to print again.
    • Make sure to use a printer and paper type that are compatible. Consult your owner’s manual and the manufacturer’s Web site.
    • To deal with a large jam, it might be necessary to pull sheets from the middle of the jam in order to loosen the whole thing.
    • Always pull the paper “with the grain” of the mechanism, if possible. Pull it through the printer the way paper normally travels so that you don’t go against the gears.
    • For more serious repairs, contact an electronic store or professional repair person.

I have an epson stylus photo 1400, and i did somethign stupid and jammed some paper, and i would like to know how to remove it. i can see it, but i can't grab it, and i don't know if there's any way i can...

Hi there,

Well first of all you can try to reset your printer -
Turn off printer

Press and hold 'stop' 'maintenance' and 'power'
buttons for about 10 seconds.

A message will appear on the screen.
power off and back on for reset.

Try the following steps to clear any jam -

1. Clear any loose paper from the paper tray. This will help you locate the jam. You will find it either in front, near the paper tray, or in the rear.
2. To clear a paper jam near the paper tray, grip the paper and pull it firmly but gently from the printer. If you find a stack of papers jammed, grab from the middle of the stack and pull.
3. For a rear jam, remove the back of the printer. When you find a free edge on the paper, grip it firmly and pull it out.
4. Replace the back cover. Press the "Resume" button or turn off the printer, and then turn it back on. Your settings should reset.
5. Try printing another document.

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Paper jam and still won't print

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Before you can clear the error message, you must locate where in the unit the paper is jammed.

Unplug the machine for safety. Now follow these instructions based on where the paper jam is located.

1. Pull the paper tray out of the machine.
2. Pull out the jammed paper.
3. Reset the machine by opening the Upper Jam Clear Cover and then closing it.

If you cannot remove the jammed paper from the front of the machine, or the error message still appears on the LCD after you have removed the jammed paper, please go to the next step.

4. Remove the Lower Jam Clear Cover from the back of the machine. Pull the jammed paper out of the machine.

5. Put the Lower Jam Clear Cover back on. Make sure the cover is set properly.

6. Open the Upper Jam Clear Cover. Make sure that there is no jammed paper left in the corners of the machine.
Note: If the paper is jammed under the print head, unplug the machine from the power source, then move the print head to take out the paper. 7. Close the Upper Jam Clear Cover.

8. Close the output paper tray cover and slide it forward, then push the paper tray firmly back into the machine. While holding the paper tray in place, pull out the paper support until it clicks and unfold the paper support flap.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
