Same issue here. Pioneer says there is no known issue with like this with the units, and has recommended that I take it in for repair.

Same problem - freezes up and need to be unplugged to reset. It has even shut itself down once! Only been in use for 9 weeks! $1400 worth of aggravation.

Same problem. Pioneer is not responding and ignoring this issue.
I am now buying a Denon and never buying Pioneer again for anything. Elite? I think not.

Anyone know what the fix is

  • djmdl Oct 09, 2009

I brought my receiver back to the store I bought it at and they sent it to Pioneer to get it fixed. I have not had a problem since I got it back.

Pioneer VSX-94TXH locks up and requires me to remove power at outlet to resume working

I had the same thing with mine. After a couple of weeks in the local repair shop, it was determined that the main? in-put chip on the back of the front panel was bad. Had it replace for about $125 out the door and it's been working great since.
