SOURCE: Water shooting out bottom holes

This normally means that the iron is not heating up enough check that you have adjusted the temp so it is not as the water will either come out of the bottom when not hot enough to steam or when the jets get dirty and need cleaning.

Thanks J

My iron has stoped steaming onley stams at burst now and again

It may have reached the end of its life span. Unplug it while its hot and fill it with cleaning vinegar and leave it a few hours/all day then dump it and check for lime coming out then flush with fresh water twice. Plug it back in and try it on a bath towel. BTW Just bought a new iron and ruined the first shirt (brand new) it touched in an unexpected burst of heat. It was made in china of course.

No steam coming throwc

Normally when water is put inside steam irons, it get stored in tank then if thermostat knob is set for steam then water moves to bottom heated portion of iron. Water converts to steam as base plate is hot, heated steam comes out through perforated holes. If holes are blocked due to scale formation steam flow is blocked. The descaling has to be done as per instructions given on descaling wax manufacturer. sometimes if water does not enter through a rubber washer that is water tank to heated bottom portion then also steam will not get generated hence no steam. Please check above points and identify the problem.

Iron is leakin onto clothing while ironing

Leaking irons happen more frequently when performing lower temperature ironing. Minimize the chances of this happening by doing the articles that require less heat with a dry iron. When you're ready to do the articles that require higher heat settings, add distilled water to the iron after allowing it to cool first (some folks suggest using rain water as it will lack the minerals contained in the soil - where water pumped from the ground picks them up).

Distilled water is recommended by manufacturers for irons. Use of regular tap water will cause mineral deposits to form inside the iron that can build up and even clog the openings on the bottom plate. These can contribute to stains on the material being ironed, too. If you are unable to obtain distilled water, you ought to descale the iron regularly to remove deposits that will form by heating water or allowing it to simply evaporate. Distilled water lacks the minerals to be deposited by either of these situations. If distilled water is used - there is no need to empty the iron before storing. Tap water - whether supplied by the locality or a well is loaded with minerals and may be treated with fluoride, chlorine, etc.

Descaling
an iron is pretty straight forward - no more difficult than descaling a coffee maker. Empty the iron of any water. Partially fill the iron with white vinegar and turn on to heat. Iron and old towel or rag to allow all the vinegar to pass through the steam openings. When empty, repeat once or twice - but with fresh distilled water to flush any remaining vinegar from the iron. When satisfied that the vinegar is out, store the iron. You can purchase products expressly made for descaling irons - just like you can for coffeemakers, but vinegar is a great low cost solution that works very well.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Good day I have an euro pro iron and it leaks all the time leaving water on washed clothes.also it leaks out of the bottom??

The water may come out at the bottom instead of steam. this is due to insufficient heat produced. So switch on your ironbox and keep it in full temperature using the knob. then the water will be coming out as steam and not as water itself. Try again.

I hope this is useful to you
Thanks
