My African Violets have a mildew looking leaf and flowers which are blotchy with mildew. How do I get my plants healthy again?

Good cultural practices are a primary deterrent to powdery mildew. Place plants to allow for plenty of air circulation between plants and adequate sunlight. Also place them in an area where the temperature does not fluctuate more than 10 degrees Fahrenheit, especially from day to night, as the change increases humidity around the plant, which encourages the development of powdery mildew. A fan near the plants can stir the air to both improve air circulation and keep humidity down around the plant. Dispose of any foliage, flowers or buds with signs of powdery mildew and keep the plant isolated and in ideal conditions.
Chemical Powdery Mildew Treatment When infected plants do not respond to cultural controls, chemical controls can be effective. Both the African Violet Society of America and commercial African violet nursery Optimara recommend misting the air immediately around affected plants with a household antibacterial spray, such as Lysol. Do not direct the spray on the plant itself because it is extremely cold and could damage the plant. Spraying with organic neem oil, jojoba oil or a mixture of 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 quart of water is effective on mild to moderate powdery mildew. Synthetic fungicides are usually only effective before the powdery mildew is evident.

A riddle for progeny

Regarding "progeny" - Google definition:

prog·e·ny

noun

noun: progeny; plural noun: progenies

A descendant or the descendants of a person, animal, or plant; offspring. "The progeny of mixed marriages."

As far as a riddle ... perhaps consider one off the "offspring" riddles here:

An example might be:

"What do you call the offspring of a circle and a rectangle?"
(The answer is: an oval)

Tomato plants have had no flowers.Mainly Grosse Lisse. Grown in plant bed with 8 hours sun per day. Fertilised dug in with pot ash before planting.Just under a metre tall with good green foliage

Interesting. I have three tomato plants this year which bore no fruit. One was a $20 grafted tomato and was huge, but no flowers.

A horticulturalist told me he though I had a virus. I will be sterilizing the soil with Jeyes Fluid twice, now and about a month before planting.

I planted 3 azaleas last summer - when do they produce flowers - I see no buds

I know little about plants and gardening but I do sometimes listen to the BBC radio 4 programme "Gardener's Question Time".

Many times people ask similar questions about when will various plants flower or why haven't they flowered.
The answer from the experts is always the same. If the plants are too well cared for they are likely to put their energy into growth and might never flower.
Plants, apparently, only flower for survival. Before a plant will flower it must fear for it's life, it has to think it is going to die or maybe think it might die.

Gardeners who have lots of lovely flowers have them because they know how to deprive plants and cause them worry.

Now, Marilynn, you know as much about plants as me.

What ingrediants in cat nip

Nepeta cataria is a short lived herbaceous perennial, growing 50-100 centimetres (20-39 in) tall and wide. It resembles a typical mint family member in appearance by having the characteristic square[2] stem that members of the Lamiaceae plant family have, but with brown-green foliage. The coarse-toothed leaves are triangular to ovate.[3]
The small bilabiate flowers can be white and finely spotted with pale purple or pink. They are showy and fragrant. The plant blooms from late spring through autumn.[3]

Not enough bees, how do I pollinate

I have done a lot of cross breeding with plants and what I do is take a que tip and rough it up so the strands are frizzed up and all over the place. Then gently insert into the male flowers give it a twist gently and then remove and insert into the female flowers. And you are done. Hint, on any plant the female flowers are where the fruit or vegetable forms and is attached to the plant. On squash the male flowers point up and the female are closer to the ground.

Animal crossing wild world ds

Hey :). I use to play Animal Crossing: Wild World on my DS too. To get a garden in the game you have to go to Nook's store and buy flowers. You can bring these near your house and plant them. Every individual flower will get bigger and all together they will all make a garden.
