I realized that the camera had to be in picture taking mode in order to be able to change from B&W mode back to color.

here is where to find the settings
press MENU button
select Shooting Menu (camera icon)
select Optimize Image
select Custom
the color mode is here. mode 1 is standard RGB

mode 111 is for custom color settings, it allows you to increase/decrease a number of settings relative to color.
once you make a change be sure to press the "done" button or your changes will be lost...

Cyber shot dsc-w1 stuck in movie mode

Hi!
When you rotate the mode dial, does camera change the mode? Maybe it switches only between video and twilight modes and when you set the dial to, for example, Auto mode, it's actually in Video mode? I have seen problems like this before with these cameras, mode dial had to be changed. If so, you should contact your local Sony service center and ask the price. If they ask too much, you can contact me at toms.safranovs@gmail.com and I can give you a better price.

Hope this helps!

Sony DSC T77 How to Setup Black and white mode

Hi Allonsoma,

What the manual doesn't tell you is that you need to change the REC mode first to be able to fint the buttons in MENU.

Fist go into the REC mode (the one above menu when taking a photo). Change this to PGM and click OK. Now go into MENU, on the 3/4 page second button down should be a box with a + in the corner. This is the colour mode option. You can now change to vivid, sepia or black and white.

Hope this helps.

If its a simple menu item change your looking for, change your color mode to natural color. If that doesn't help, reset the camera to manufacturer default.

On the S5200, go to shooting mode and press the "F" button. Navigate up/down to color setting. Change from B&W to standard or chrome for more vivid color.
