SOURCE: whirlpool electric range won't work

We read on another site that sometimes an electical surge messes something up and that if you unplug the range for a few minutes it will reset. So we unplugged our range and when we plugged it in again it worked fine.

Whirlpool rf377pxg door locked after self clean

Hello- Try this first..  Unplug for 5mins.  Plug in, set clock, and push 'clean'.  After one minute push 'cancel'.  If door motor cycles and unlocks door, you got lucky. If not, then on-site diagnostics is required to solve this problem.  Technicians call 'self-clean' the 'self-destruct' feature.  Wish the solution was easy, but this one never is.   Please acknowledge this post if informative.  Thanks- Ed

Whirlpool range model GY398LXPB00 oven does not work

Turned out there was a short in one of the wires connected to the bottom element on the oven. After fixing that, I got a EO-F2 error that the repairman could not get rid of by pressing start. After hours on line and at this site I remembered that you had to do something after the power was interrupted. I came home and looked again and found you need to unplug the stove for 5 min before resetting the clock. I did this and it fixed everything. The repairman left telling me the control panel needed to replaced to the tune of about $600!

This shows you have to be informed or you can be taken advantage of. Thanks FixYa.

Have a Whirlpool microwave oven, model MH3185XP. Just stopped wor

In some Whirlpool models, there are more than one fuse, and two or more thermal devices which can interrupt power to the oven.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can download it here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

Please write back with more details if you need further help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
