Question about Breville ESP8XL Espresso Machine

Open Question

How do I replace the seal on a Breville Cafe Roma ESP8XL & where do I get them? I've removed the black plastic clamp the supports the handle & then the center screw in the concave plate that allows the water thru but it didn't seem like the seal or the concave plate wanted to come out. The 4 screws that hold the plastic clamping plate seem pretty cheap & it's difficult to torque them back down, due to limited height available, any fixes for this? Paul.

SOURCE: breville ESP8XL Espresso Machine Cafe Roma leaking.. help please..

We had that happen and it was a crack in the black ring that holds the filter. Breville could not supply us with one but we found an OEM part in aluminum from http://www.vancouverwireedm.com/caferomadiyt.htm. We received it 1 week after ordering. It was pretty easy to replace. Our machine works fine now.

have you tried to use the sharp pin and try to dislodge coffee grind from the filter cup? You will need to remove it from the filter holder to gain access.

You either missed a seal when reassembling, or did not get a tight seal (may be "cocked") when you reassembled it. In other words, no pressure due to lack of seal.

Coffee grounds in coffee.

I sent a email to Breville and they sent me seals rings, try their web page. My problem though was that the case was broken, and coffee with grounds trickled through that crack, so check the area around the casket.

Obviously the problem is with your grind, not the Breville. SImply adjust your grind to finer.
Good luck!
