You will need to go down to your local auto parts store and invest five U.S.dollars to get a set of Ford radio removal tools. These have a u-shape on them and a nipple on each end of the u-shape to hold the lock/unlock tabs in place. You simply press these into the holes on the radio, then pull the radio out with ease.Wire coat hangers simply won't do the trick.I hope I could help, Rate me accordingly, Thanks.

Locked myself out of my windstar no spare key

for electric locks, straighten and thread a standard wire coat hanger or similar between the window glass and rubber trim in a suitable area and at the shortest distance from the lock release button below it. experiment with movement on insertion until can depress lock release with the end of the hanger. can be done in 10-30secs

for standard locks, form a hook at the end of the straightened standard wire hanger or similar. push the hooked end along window under the rubber trim from above the area of the keyhole to about keyhole depth or a little beyond. experiment with upward tugs until you see button raise. also can be done in 10-30secs

for either, as long as there is enough reach to the "tool", excess wire can be bent in suitable ways to assist with control of "tool".

I need to remove a mercury cougar stereo

Hi, the stereo is held in by 4 spring clips. You have to insert steel wires in the 4 holes about 3/4 to 1 inch deep and pry them outward slightly as you pull the stereo out. They sell U-shaped wires at auto parts stores for this purpose but you can make them by cutting up a coat hanger. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

LOCKED MY KEYS IN TRUNK HOW DO I GET TO THE TRUNK RELEASE 2000 FOCUS

I gather that you are also locked out of your car, or you could use the trunk release. If you are able to get inside the car, remove the bottom part of the back seat. Then you will see the bolts holding the seat back in place. Remove the bolts and pull the seat out far enough to gain access to the trunk. If you are locked out fo your car, you could try a wire coat hanger pushed down through the driver's door weather stripping at the top of the door. You may have to pry the top of the door out a little and wedge something in there to hold it out. Shove the coat hanger through the weatherstripping and try to activate the door locks or the trunk release.

STEREO REMOVAL

Assuming it's a Ford radio, you'll see 4 small holes on the radio front panel, 2 on each side. A pair of "U" shaped tools (buy them at almost any parts store) go into these holes, then pry outward to release the radio. I've made the tools myself by bending some stiff wire (a coat hanger works).
