Question about Dell Office Equipment & Supplies

My printers service tag is BQX7K61. It was working fine and then I got a paper jam form having too many sheets of paper in it. I pulled the jam of paper out of the back and now it won't work. Just makes a grinding noise. I'm also having a hard time getting the door closed ove the new black ink cartridge I bought, It is the Dell one for this unit but the door won't close over it. Help

Hi ,

This is clearly an indication of now placing the ink cartridge properly. This has nothing to do with paper jam. I would request you to go through the article bellow and then install the catridge once again.

Paper jams frequently unless I feed them manually one by one


Try using a better quality paper (heavier paper). Also give the paper some air before using.

Paper jam on my Lexmark Z42


So I assume the computer is coming up with this error, Do you know whether there is paper in the printer or not that is causing this error or does the printer just think there is?

The outside panels should open up and you should see some rollers which may have paper stuck in them. Check for stuck paper or any other object and simply pull it out. Pulling paper out the way it went in won't wreck the printer.

If there isn't any object, you can try resetting the printer by unplugging it and the plugging it back in.

Let me know it neither of the above suggestions work or if you just need some more help or can provide more information on this.

Lexmark T644 Drawer 2 Missing error message but drawer 2 is in place. Drawer 2 always has problems pulling form form drawer when printing from drawer 2.


If job prints from the wrong tray or on the wrong paper or specialty media, this is an indication that the operator panel menu settings do not match the media loaded in the tray.

Make sure the Paper Size and Paper Type specified in the printer driver match the paper size and type in the tray.

Paper feeder stuck


If the paper feeder stuck, do the following:
  1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.
  2. If paper is stuck inside, open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper, including any torn pieces. Then close the printer cover.
  3. If paper remains near the sheet feeder, press the paper feed roller lever inside the paper feeder to release the jammed paper, then carefully pull it out.
  4. Load the paper correctly.
  5. Press the cp_button_14.gif stop button to resume printing.
  • If the printer continues to jam or misfeed paper, and you are certain that there are no foreign objects lodged down inside the paper feed area, your printer may require service. Please call Epson technical support for further assistance.

    I was having the same problem with the same model and same error. Then I discovered there's an extra panel you can pull out of the side - it's not the one the display is indicating, it's the one all the way on the side. When you pull on the grey level and it comes down, keep pul;ling on the grey level because ANOTHER panel comes down under that and I found some paper jammed in there. Once I removed it it worked fine.

    Single sheet paper on my HP LJet 1100a works fine


    There is a recall fix on this printer if it has specific feed problems like pulling in multiple sheets etc. Might be related. You can contact HP and they'll send you a DIY fix kit to replace the rubber that pulls the sheet in and onto the rollers.

    Dell photo printer 942 all in one paper jam


    Hi,

    Paper jams can be real or false. The all-in-one may report a paper jam when there is not any jammed paper, however, the solution to a real paper jam or a false paper jam is the same. Up-grading the printer firmware could also fix this kind of issue, however I would appreciate if you try the steps below before you up-grade the printer firmware.
    To fix the paper Jam errors please try the following steps:
    1. Confirm that no foreign materials are inside the machine.
    2. Confirm that usable paper is set.
    3. Confirm that the paper is set properly.
    4. Confirm that recommended paper is used, and the number of sheets set does not exceed the required limit.
    5. Disconnect the printer power cord as well as the printer cable form the printer.
    6. Turn the printer upside down and shake the printer in order to remove any obstacle which is stuck inside the printer causing the paper jam error.
    Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges and check carefully if there is any small piece of paper which is stuck inside, if so carefully remove it.
    7. Disconnect the printer power cord and press and hold the power button on the printer for about 15 to 20 seconds( this will release the flee power) and reconnect the printer and check.

    If the above mentioned steps do not fix the issue please up-grade the printer firmware form the Support.dell.com web site. However make sure that you do not turn off either your printer or computer when you are downloading and installing the printer firmware.
    Alternately you can also try to download the and install the printer drives form the support site if the paper jam message is being displayed on the computer’s screen but not on the printer’s LCD screen.

    Dell 1600n Will only print with sheet feeder open


    Rollers may be worn out and not properly grabbing paper or a gear may be broken. You should be able to inspect by lifting cover to feeder and watching as paper is pulled through.
