The broken hinge on the left side of the HP 6310 does not allow me to raise the door with the controls on it high enough for it to stay up will replacing cartridge. Also causes door to not close properly unless you push the left side back from the front. It does not appear to be a easy job, hope if I can find one there are directions for replacement.

Take the scanner lid off by squeezing the plastic hinges inserted into the back of the cabinet.
Take the top hinge of the cartridge door off with the 2 tork screws holding it, using a small screw driver.
Go to a hardware store & pick up a pair of cabinet hinges no more than 2". (You need to buy a pair because they do not come separate)
Place the new cabinet hinge on the back to the right of the bottom hinge of the base cabinet. Mark holes, drill one top, in the door, & 1 bottom cabinet, pilot holes. Check alignment & insert screws.
Tighten the bottom screws. Leave a little slack in the top screws as they have to be a little off set to close completely. You will only need to open this Cartridge door to change cartriges, so, no sweat.
My cost was under $5 for a pair of brass hinges, & my time, about an hour, taking my time.
It's too bad HP won't supply their offset hinges. They are inexpensive & easy to replace.
I've had my unit for exactly 4 years now, so this fix is a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Besides, I have ink already purchased that does not fit new printers.....go figure....
Aloha.

Alternative to the hinge solution, remove the single torsion

alternative to the hinge solution above, remove the single torsion screw and remove the bottom black portion of the hinge. Two springs will be attached. Remove the springs. The lid will now set down without putting strain on the good right hinge.

Simple fix for the broken hinge issue on the HP 6310.
Remove the upper hinges using a torx screwdriver from the unit. Leave the lower hinges in place, including the spring loaded seats. Carefully place the upper section back on the unit to seat in place. Place a length of duct tape across the back on the unit on the join, to act as a new "hinge". With due care the unit functions like new.

In general it costs more to repair a printer than to replace it. Spares are not easy to get. Sorry.

Hp 6310 repair hinge

Generally the hinge will fall into a groove when lifted up. If it will not close you can generally lift the lid a bit higher and dislodge the hinge from these grooves and it should close.

The hinge on the cover cracked. Can this be replaced?

I used an offset cabinet hinge & screwed it into the body of the printer, & the cover. The offset has to be jiggled a bit to open, but works fine on closing.
Otherwise, HP wants you to buy a complete new scanner cover.

Left hinge on lid popped out while changing ink cartridge

if its not designed to slide back in, it may be broken. if its broken then you have 3 options:
1. ignore it
2. have it proffesionally fixed
3. get creative (duct tape, super glue, etc)

HP Officejet 6313 All-in-one: all lights on dashboard and camera icon next to USB and SD ports blink continuously, also continuous message "reset power"

Check the flex cable that connects the carriage assembly to the main board. This flex cable contains about 23 links and you may have a few that are broken. By "carriage assembly", I am talking about that assembly that houses the print cartridges. If you have a few broken links, you can try repairing the cable, but it may be less time consuming to buy and replace the cable.

Hinges for top cover for HP officejet 6210- Q5820A

Let me know if you find a source for replacements. In the mean time, I kept my unit working by just removing the broken top half of the hinge.
You have to remove 5 screws using a TORX T10 screwdriver. First remove the small plate covering the back of hinge on the outside. Then remove the two vertical screws at the top of the hinge up under the hinge lip. Then open the cover (be careful to hold it in place so as not to damage the three flex connections between the lid and body) and remove the other two screws at the top of the hinge. Remove the broken top half of the hinge and lower the cover back down. Until you find a replacement hinge, you can put a piece of heavy duty tape on the back where the hinge was.
