Question about Kenmore 24 in. 17462 / 17464 / 17469 Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

It went thru the whole cycle and when I opened it up - there was water still left in the bottom - hit the cancel/drain button and nothing happened. Unhooked the drain line to the drain pipe under the sink and no water came out. How do I find out if it is the pump ? If I take it out - what do I need to look for and what trouble shoot things do I need to know. I live about one hour from the nearest town - so I would like to find out the problem - before I call a repairman and maybe fix it myself - before I have to pay a hefty price just to have a repairman come out here and tell me what it is and charge me for a service call plus have to make another trip out here and that also means I miss two days of work. So I would appreciate if you can help me. Thanks Cindy

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher LIghts are blinking....

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

SOURCE: dishwasher runs, water doesn't drain out

sounds to me that you may have some suds residue in the dishwasher that keeps it from draining completely. Get you some dishwasher cleaner which you can purchase at wal-mart or wherever you buy your detergent, and clean out your dishwasher. It is a inexpensive test. Alot less expensive than having a tech come to your house. Make sure that your drain hose is mounted higher that where it goes into the drain. This is also a common problem that I encounter in the field. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help you futher.

SOURCE: Dish Washer retains the water without draining....

the drain pump is fairly easy to replace. it locks into place beside the sump and motor. push tab in and rotate pump to pull out. you will lose water so have a towel handy. inspect drain hose for restrictions or kinks.

SOURCE: Dishwasher malfunction

Hi,

The flashing light indicates that the control did not sense a 3 degree temperature rise with an 8 minute test. There are many reasons this could happen with a working heater. I put together a page that shows the reasons and you might be able to do about it and again how to reset the control so you can use it. Depending on how deep you want to dig into the issue or get a new one is up to you. I would weigh in how much you like the current machine overall against how much a new trouble free unit might be. The best one out there today in my book by far is the KitchenAid,

Should get some one to look at it. If there is a hot smell could be a short someplace.

Dishwasher not cleaning

Remove the panel at the base of unit below door you should find the tech sheet which will tell you how to place unit into diagnostic, on the spray arms make sure the small holes are clean below the lower spray arm is a screen make sure it is clean not covered or cake with calcium build up if it clogged water cannot pass thru to enter the wash pump you can also remove the screws to take the upper halve apart to inspect the wash pump for any obstruction it is possible you could have a bad motor control or both you didn't mention after the unit fills do you hear the wash pump hum or click

Frigidaire FDP635RFR3 wont drain.

Theres a drain pump located at the bottom of the unit if you follow the hose from the pump then to the drain if your unit isnt draining you might have to call for service from a technician to have them change your drain pump. If the water is just sitting inside the unit and when u start the unit it should fill with water again. Also if you have a cancel function by pressing this you will make the unit drain if you dont hear anything when u press the cancel button you definetly need a pump

My kenmore dw just stopped running thru cycles except drain

Hello, With the information you supplied I'm going to assume the light is blinking 7 times and pausing then blinking 7 times and so on. With the door cracked open hit the following button combination: -high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry Then close the door and hit cancel. The pump will run for a few moments and then you should be all set. Hope this helps Mike

Bosch SHE43M was running when a pipe broke under the sink and flooded the kitchen. Water turned off before dishwasher. Now dishwasher makes a motor sound but no water starts and no cycles. Nothing...

water is in the base and the float switch is activated. you must remove the water to deactivate.then hit the drain and cancell. let me tell you a quick joke .Im a old bosch tech and i had a call with the same problem. as soon as i got there i notice mouse droppings.the customer had a tech come by and told her she needed a circulation pump amodule the whole thing.wrong!!! what had happen was a mouse had made a mouse bed with the white packing foam and pulled it under the float in the unit. so the unit thought it had water in base and it went into drain mode . I removed foam and problem solved.

None of the Wash Cycles are Working

It's probably the touchpad - commonly used buttons quit working after a while. If not, then it's the electronic control board.

Paused. now stuck. cannot open, turn off, etc.

Unpluggin the machine is pretty much the only way to reset it.Leave it unplugged for a couple hours if that doesnt work its most like a control board issue
