What model of DVD player do you have? The RF cable jacks on dvd players are only for switching the RF. All players always use AV input/output or Component input/output, the later is the best.

Disconnect the horizontal output transistor, and switch ON the set without it. See whether it switches ON. If yes, suspect both LOT and horizontal output transistor. This is a common fault to this kit. More to say, if the tuner get shorted inside, this might happen too.

JVC RX 515 receiver

The fault is on the tuner section of the receiver. FM radio signals are processed by one IC in the tuner section. Since you can hear the station, it won't be that one. The only other is the Stereo Decoder. The radio signals are passed to this and that splits the signal into the left and right channels. If you can't here one of the channels then the Decoder IC will have failed. If you are lucky the board will label the IC, otherwise find the tuner section (look for coils). Then read the numbers of the IC's. If there are several enter each number into Google and find what it does. If you find one that says "decoder" or "FM multiplex" that is the one you need to replace.

Check and replace its main system control memory IC. If this IC is faulty, auto tuning will not work, or, the TV will store any received channels. If the TV do not tune into channels too, the AGC voltage to its tuner, and tuner itself should be checked.

Chanels are not tuned properly, snow is coming, chaneels changes automatically

Possible that the TUNER is faulty and so the AUTO SCAN will not memorise the frequency to be SET. You will need to check if there is picure on the A/V aux inputs. If so the tuner/VIF/SIF sections is faulty. Also channel skipping can be due to fault in the memory or the processor or poor gain the VIF section/TUNER section.
You need to check for voltages and also need to inject signal to trace and confirm.

Sony KV- 20FV12 get no signal on screen. Same cable outlet works on other TV as a test. Cable ON in menu. Auto Set search produces search but still no signal.

If auto search is going on smoothly, and there is no stations on air is memorized, and display no signal, there are tow possibilities. The first one is antenna is not connected properly. Check the antenna connection for firm. The second one is tuner fault. If the tuner inside the tV is faulty, or it does not gets proper voltage to work, this type of fault land display will see on screen. Check if proper voltages are comming to the tuner section in circuit board. If voltages are ok, and still there is no signal display, just check it with external video input. That is, connect it to any dvd or cd with AV connector, and set the TV to AV mode and play a disc. If there is picture, the video side of your TV is OK. If not, Video-chroma-RF jungle IC is faulty, and not the tuner. OK.

Satelite tv through my dvr-550h

satellite tuners and DVDs have different remote, unless your using a universal remote with satellite tuner command program recording, you'll need to program the time especially the allotment.then make sure you sat tuner is tuned to the station you want to record.after setting the time and station, its all don't need the DVD's remote to change the channel.

Hi there!

Assuming that you tried to tune stations onto the UHF bandwidth and received nothing,Commonly the tuner box is probably at fault and needs replacement. The VHF and UHF signals are split inside the tuner so if you receive VHF fine then UHF should as well unless faulty of course. Some circuits require an external IC to do the switching, but more on the older models. Regards and good luck, JUS004

Un plug the power to the Plasma Screen and also to the Media Receiver for ten minutes. Disconnect the off the air antennas both A and B. After ten minutes plug in the plasma screen then the media receiver and turn on wi the remote control. You should now be back in operation. I was.
Also It may not be a bad digital tuner. The TV Guide feature is active even when the zip code is set to all 0s so if you have an over the air antenna attached the TV will look for the TV Guide info and if it can not find it because of a weak signal or the chanel it is tuned to does not carry that information the TV thinks that tuner does not work which triggers the 12 flashes. Also on power up the gray box with the waring message "Plasma Display Starting Up, Please Wait" appears and the screen is blank.

Hello Han01, I am going to assume that you have a good RF signal coming in and that the four terrestrial channels are coming in clearly. Normally I would use a VA62 or a VA62A to inject a signal at the proper input voltage of off air RF about 1000uv down to 500uv. Injecting the signal will allow you to test if the TV can lock on to the signal and capture and store it. If it can then your issue is with the signal level coming into the TV set from the antenna. If not, then your problem is the sensitivity of your RF tunner which would indicate a possible RF input/amplifier issue. If it is the actual tuner, I would then suggest getting a OEM replacement for your tuner, I have repaired 6 tuners in my 25 years of TV experience and every time I finished the job I vowed I would never do that again. Finally one day I purchased an OEM tuner replacement and I have not repaired a tuner since (It's good academic work, but not worth the time, if time is money). If the tuner is not the problem then the issue may be the chip which stores the channel in memory. This can be checked with a multimeter or an oscilloscope (data pulses and truth tables will be used here). In any event. If you do not have any of the equipment I mentioned, and do not have electronics experience, I would suggest taking your VCR to a TV repair shop, since these measurements are very critical in the analysis of your problem.
